I have a problem with the breadcrumbs module
It tells me the navigation path in any of the pages and I get the error
Notice: Trying to get property of non-object in C: xampp htdocs joomla_2.5 modules mod_breadcrumbs helper.php on line 35

File helper.php line 35 is

$item->link = JRoute::_(‘index.php?Itemid=’.$app->getMenu()->getDefault()->id);

What should I do

I found from joomla forum a thread mentioning the same problem here. But I’ve faced this problem before, it due to PHP version on your hosting, you need to check PHP version on your hosting to meet the joomla system requirement here.

I use PHP version 5.4.16
Although not if this problem causes the module stops working, because it does not show me the navigation path.

I also try to look at JOOMLA forum and there seem to be some threads talking about the same problem like yours. It’s hard for me to help you if your site is still at local. Because I did check this JA University J!2.5 but I couldn’t duplicate the same error.

You can try to download quickstart package JA University J2.5 here and install it again
