I have run into this problem with Ja ORISITE, everytime I try to modified or create an article. What happened?

I modify the article, save it, and then when I jump back on the front end I clicked on the article but it does not show like it does on the joomlart website. It always show the SPORT TODAY, MOST READ and POPULAR TAB as well as the IN THE MIX block with all the intro text for its articles. But if you checked the orisite template on joomlart, everytime you clicked on an artcile you get just the full article without the tabs I just mentioned above this lines. It will show you just the article with the login form at the right and the main menu module as well.

    any help?

Because the article belongs to the homepage and some modules ( SPORT TODAY, MOST READ, POPULAR TAB, IN THE MIX) are set to be displayed in homepage.
So you should create a categories menu (to show all article) and un-check this menu in menu assignment in the module manager.

The way I understand it you have a problem with module positions.

You need to go into the backend. Go to Extensions – Module Manager. Sort by position and you will see that when you go to ‘JA Tabs’ you will see the three modules for ‘Sports Today’, ‘Most Read’ & ‘Popular’. They are a JA Content Slider module.

Click on one of them, down the bottom left side of the page you will see ‘Menu Assignment”. For each menu simply select the pages that you want the module to appear on (or not) using the ‘only on pages selected’ or ‘on pages except those selected’ drop box.

Move on to the next module.

The ‘In The Mix’ module can be handled the same way.

    Hope this helps.

I tried to do it, but I could not see any option under Menu Manager that says ” show all articles”, I saw “list all categories”

I am still having the same problem.

These items are a ‘JA Content Slider’ module running in position ‘JA Tabs’ The menu selection doesn’t alter the output.

You need to go to Extensions – Module Manager.

Find the module with the TITLE of ‘JA Tabs’

This is a custom HTML module that controls the behaviour of the JA Tabs position. You will see that this module is in position ‘tabs’ as per the position layouts.

Change the menu selections at the bottom of the page as described above and presto all will be as you want.

    Hi pb66,

An article will be considered that it belongs to Home menu when it doesn’t belong to any menu.

To avoid that, you should follow as the following steps (assumption: all featured article in News category)
    1. Go to back-end
    2. Click Menus => Menu Manager => Add New Menu. Create a menu name = Hidden menu
    3. Add a item menu into Hidden Menu with
    – Menu Item Type = Category Blog
    – Choose a category = News
    – Name = NewsCat
    4. Clear all cache and make sure that the menu assignment of the desired modules only check Home menu
    5. Surf to your front-end site and you will see result.

    Hope this helps!

After 2½ hours of trying to figure out which modules may be incompatible, checking module settings and menu assignments. All the time comparing the settings to my (as yet unpublished) Oriste site, I have come to the following conclusion:

JA Orisite treats every Joomla article as being the home page. Therefore any Joomla article is rendered as ‘home’ so all modules assigned to appear on the home page will appear as with every Joomla Article. Is this a fault in the template or the way it was designed? I’m not sure if it’s a template fault or just considering every page to be the menu item home (although I did try changing the word back to home so it’s probably a menu-id=1 issue or similar).

The solution is to insert all of your articles into K2. I have structured my site with all of the content/product articles in K2 and corporate and contact information as Joomla articles.

In summary (as I said after 2½ hours) I realised that the above was always the case.

I have created a couple of K2 categories same as the JA tabs headings and put the three articles you have already created into them. (I haven’t inserted the pics etc. running out of time). I have pointed the JA Content Slider module to the K2 categories instead of the Joomla ones.

When you go to your home page now you will see that if you click on an articles at the bottom of the screen (ie the Joomla ‘featured’ articles for a category blog page layout) you get a screen with all of the home page items, plus the single article.

If you click on one of the three Dunkelvolk articles mid screen (in the tabs) you get the full article – alone plus all of the nice extras that K2 can give you.

I don’t know if the Joomlart Dev Team want to comment on this structure…..

Anyway back to my real job..

    Good luck!

I think this information needs to be shared more widely as there seems to be a couple of threads on this.

Thank you very much, sorry for the delay, I am really thankfull for your time and support.
at the end I just did everything manually, I was using the quickstart package but this time What I did was to just erase everything again and starting to upload the software piece by piece, though we should not be doing this.

it seems like most of the web support comes from the users rather than the JOOMLART staff, wich is sad, than you very, very much for your time, really.
