I have been able to install the template, however everything looks in one line down, even selecting left or right still puts it at the bottom. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall again, and still looks the same. Is there something I am missing when installing it?

October 11, 2010 at 10:37 pm #358506Did you install from the quickstart or just a Joomla install then uploaded the template? I am guessing the latter.
If it is a new site then maybe best to install the quickstart then re-apply your changes. If not then install Wamp ( http://www.wampserver.com/en/ ) on your desktop and install a copy of the quickstart in that. You’ll then be able to see exactly how everything is setup as the designers intended. It will also allow you to experiment very quickly without all that messing about uploading malarky.

Hi,
After downloading all elements of the template package, you will have an element named “quickstart”, it inludes Joomla core & JoomlArt template + extensions, extract it and upload all to your root, before doing that, plz move all files and folders of root to another location as a backup. Then browse your root url to install the quickstart.October 12, 2010 at 3:14 am #358540Will not doing this overright any config files for database, etc….?

Yes, all you need was embeded in the quickstart, just install it like a normal Joomla installation you will have a site looks like our demo site, but remember to click the “Install Sample Data” button when prompted.
October 12, 2010 at 3:25 am #358544Will this install like a fresh install? What will happen with the information I have put into all the database already?

Oh, if you have had your database already, it will be overriden, so do not use the quickstart. Could you plz send me your site & FTP account info via PM for further check?

October 12, 2010 at 7:30 am #358578As suggested earlier, try it all on your local machine using wamp. That way you can work very quickly and if things go wrong it will not affect your live site. It really is a tool you should get to know. Once you’ve used it a couple of time you will wonder how you ever got on without it. Using wamp I can install a test copy of any quickstart on my local machine in under 5 minutes.
October 13, 2010 at 1:46 am #358675I have done the install via the quickstart, but now have some other problems.
1. I created my own poll but does not show up, only the original one shows. (Solved)
2. Where do I change the bookmarks in the bookmark tab (Solved)
3. How to make the LOGO graphics bigger
4. Under video of the day tab, there is a whats new in…. how to change this? (Solved)
5. I have ALL of the Article turned off when you go to home, the main page is blank, but when clicking on WORLD menu (or any of the others), it now shows all of the WORLD articles that are OFF (or the menu that was selected, world, health, etc).
6. When I add a new article it comes up to show it has 68 comments (ALL OLD FROM ANOTHER ARTICLE) (Solved) However you need some doc file to be included on what things need to be changes, this forum thing is crazy.
7. UPLOAD of graphics does not work with your QUICK INSTALL, this quick install is turning out to be a SLOW INSTALL.CREATE AN INSTALL DOC TO BE USED WITH QUICK INSTALL and another for MANUAL INSTALL, this will make things way faster, and not require long delay for support and help.

After installing a new system, we always have many things to discover because it’s new. Just try to figure those issues out yourself first, I think they are not too difficult 🙂 and when face with any stubborn issues, get back and ask me for help 😎

October 13, 2010 at 10:58 am #358777Glad to see you are getting there. The quickstart really is easy and there are many threads detailing how to use it. At the end of the day it is exactly the same as doing a standard Joomla install so I cannot see any way of improving that. If you have any ideas please feel free to make suggestions.
As for adjusting the logo graphics please be more specific in the size you want the box to be. This requires an adjustment to the css. Learning basic css is quite easy especially if you use the Firefox browser and the excellent Firebug tool. If you tell me the dimensions of the logo you wish to install I’ll detail exactly how and what you need to do.
