February 23, 2011 at 1:46 am #378001You can check PHP version: php -v on Linux or create php file with <?php echo phpinfo();?> and then you try to ask the hosting service to upgrade your server to the last version of php, check the issue again.

March 1, 2011 at 1:28 pm #379083I am having a lot of trouble installing JA Portfolio. This is my 3 day trying to install it and I am at my wits end!
I have downloaded the zip file and extracted it locally to my computer. I also extracted the template folder locally and uploaded it via FTP to the server. When I try to install it via Joomla, it says please enter package directory.
Where am I going wrong?
March 1, 2011 at 8:14 pm #379134You dont need to unzip the template. Leave it zipped, then install it from joomla.
You could also use the started package, and that’s where you will need to unzip that package and FTP to your server to install it. (remember to “install sample data” at the last step of your installation)
Hope it helpsMarch 5, 2011 at 10:01 pm #379866crismary, you seem like a helpful person, and I really do need help. Any way I try it, it just says Please enter package directory.
Can you think of any other potential road blocks?
