I have just dowloaded the JA Edenite template. I am trying to install it on 1.7 with Xampp. I have clicked on dowload, then downloaded all of the files.

Now I go into Joomla and go to extnesion manager.. install… upload package file… I am selecting the zip file that I downloaded.. however, nothing happens when I hit upload and install. I have tried several times with the same result.

Am I missing a step… was there something that I was supposed to do first… am I downloading the wrong files?

Ok… so i figured it out.. finally. Now I just have an issue with the source file.. it says JInstaller: Install: cannot find XML setup file. What does this mean?

Not that it doesn’t work most of the time – and, in many ways is the preferred method – but I keep seeing similar issues using the Extension Manager to install templates (especially quickstart installations).

Might I suggest trying the steps within THIS TUTORIAL[/url] – as I rarely experience any issues utilizing this method.
