Ok, I did a search and couldn’t find anyone else having the same problem.
When publishing a new article, the image doesn’t show up on the front end. Just the title and preview text.

How does the image resizing work? Do I have to do it manually? How is the resized image directed to the frontpage?

I installed the quickstart for my site, and the demo items work fine.

Ok, still having the same problem. Is the backend suppose to automatically resize the image once a new article has been created? Did a article yesterday and it worked fine. Did 3 today, and the resize to thumbnail for the front page doesn’t work.

Can someone provide a answer please? I just need to know what I need to do to get the resizing to work.
As I mentioned, I upload the image, and and add to article, but the image will not show up on the front page, only the article main page. There are no resized images created in the resize directory.

Any help at all would be appreciated. Is this a issue with rights? What module does the resizing?

ok, it’s weird, but I got it. I can upload new articles with images from the front-end and the image resizing works as it should. Uploading articles and images from the backend, resizing doesn’t work.

Are you saying you are logging in on the front end to make changes? When I log into the front-end “not backend”, everything works like it should. Images are resized etc.. Now that I know this, this is the way I will add articles, and not worry about the backend.

Check the size of your images as well. I’ve also had problems with adding the images in. Once I upload them in the front end, I can’t just select the image, I have to put the url to the image in the properties for the image to show up. I found that if my image is more than 300px wide, I experience problems. So I limit the images to 250px wide. Are you able to look in the resize diectory to see if your images are being resized?

    Hello crazylegs and minas 69,
I have a similar problem and I have detected that the resized images dont get enough user rights.
I sucessfully get images like 600X400 to down skale but they show up as red X in the frontend.
I checked the resized folder and the thumbs are there but with read mod set to owner only.
    All te best

I don’t get that issue. The resize folder is set for all to be able to read much in the same way for all of the directories under the install. My install is under Windows. Are you using Linux?

Yeah…First thanks for your comments…, I changed the user rights in the resized folder and now I can upload all pictures to the main folder called stories…when I upload pictures to the different folder inside the stories folder ..same same..no picutre

Yes I amusing Linux thats way I have the issue with rights. I have done a little test on windows and just to be sure do you have the GD librery installed? I do belive that is whats used to resize the images. Try to use a big images like 600X400 and put it up on the front page. Open the frontend and then check your resized folder if you have an image with that looks somthing similar to this:
    Original image: image.jpg
Resized image: image300_200.jpg or the size you have set as max with and hight in your news_fp module.
If you dont you need to install the GD library for your windows php.
If you you use a slightly smaller image than the max values no re-sizing will take place for the front page.

PHP 5 and above has the built-in in GD library. It just needs to be enabled in the php.ini
