August 12, 2011 at 8:35 pm #167791Hi,
I have installed JA Methys Quickstart and everything is working great also the “facebook like” System but:
When I am clicking on the facebook-like button the system puts the text and a picture in my facebook stream but the picture is wrong. The JA Social PlugIn does not take the right picture from the right article NO, the system takes any other picture from the content that have nothing to do with that articel where I clicked on the “LIKE-button”.Please help, tell me whats wrong. The problem is easy to see. Only click on a “Like button” on my webside (http://www.lorenz-music.com) in the featured articels and you will see on your facebook stream that you will get a wrong picture.
Thanks !
Best regards 24music

August 18, 2011 at 1:35 pm #406870Hi 24,
Another moderator has suggested that you can select one picture to be always visible there, which won’t be changed through every page.
Maybe this will help you temporarily.
Please advise if it helps or not.
Thanks!1 user says Thank You to Blaine for this useful post

August 19, 2011 at 1:27 pm #407084Hi,
the problem is still the same. When anybody is clicking on the facebook “like” button (at http://www.lorenz-music.com) the ja social plug in takes the wrong picture. It does not take the right picture from the article no it takes any other from the content. And in the “facebook-stream” the right article-lyrics is shown but not the right picture to this article.

August 19, 2011 at 1:42 pm #407085Hi 24,
Facebook is not so good about the updated pictures to apps, just wanted you to know that.
WE are still working on this at our end and will let you know as soon as a resolution is found.
May I also ask you to PM me with backend access to the administrator panel or FTP.
DO NOT post details here in the forum. ONLY pm it to me.
I will need a link to the admin panel, Super Administrator rights, a user name and a password as well.
Thanks and I appreciate your patience!Blaine FriendBlaine

August 19, 2011 at 3:34 pm #407107Hi 24,
The first thing I see is in the template settings. You have caching enabled. I would try to turn off caching in the template.
the second thing I would like you to check on is the setting fr the plugin its self, Facebook Application Id is blank and I wonder if Facebook does not require this for permissions access. I know I have to have this for some apps on my phone. If this is the case you would need to search Facebook documents for the answer to how to get this number.
I have cleared your cache as well and that seems to have helped also.
Let me know if the cleaning of the cache has resolved your issues, otherwise, please try the first few suggestions I listed.
Thanks!24music Friend24music

August 19, 2011 at 9:52 pm #407169Hi,
I have changed the template settings to “caching disable” and put the facebook ID number in the plugin settings as well, but nothing solved the problem. I have searched in some other forums for that problem and it seems that this problem is known not only in joomla. Some guys solved that problem by adding a line like this (<meta property=”og:image” content=”URL”>) or this (<link rel=”image_src” href=”thumbnail_pic_url” />) in the head area of the index.php of the side. (Some of these guys say that with this lines you can show one thubnail/picture for all “like buttons”. What do yo mean ? Is this a chance for solving this problem. And if yes, where can I put this lines in the head area of the index.php ?
Thanks!Blaine FriendBlaine

August 21, 2011 at 6:00 am #407384Hi 24,
I have read both and they both seem extremely reasonable. How much work do you want to do?
I would try the second solution first as it involves less. Clear your cache on your browser as well as the site cache and live with it for a few days noting any changes and how you feel about them.
Then, if that is not the solution, I would try the second.
Keep me informed 24 -
