I am trying to turn on the “Search Engine Friendly URLs” setting in Joomla 1.5 under the Global Configuration area on my website. When I do that, the URLs are changed but the JA_Helio template does not work. All of my pages become text without any formatting. Is this a problem with the template or do I need to do something else to make it work?

Have you renamed htaccess.txt to .htaccess in the joomla root?

Does it also fail if you set a different template as default?

    Hi Phil,

Thanks for the help. Yes the problem did exist with other templates. Your suggestion to look at the .htaccess file worked! My Web Server provider is using Apache and I had to comment out the line that is listed in the HTACCESS.TXT file concerning “Options +FollowSymLinks”, and then turn on both “Search Engine Friendly URLs” and “Use Apache mod_rewrite” to get everything to work.

    Thanks again!
