@librandi: Apologies for this late response, somehow I need time to check the problem on your site and hope my explain below will help you to understand
You could not run both JA Mono and JA Hotel templates on your site and only want to run one of them.
I am guiding you to work JA Mono template with multi-language
Create the menu item, template style and assign the menu item with each language
You will have a site to work with multi-language on your site.

Probably my english is bad, http://www.pirriprova.it is the quick start of mono, without ja hotel, and I had done :
Create the menu item, template style and assign the menu item with each language
Create general menu (homepage) to work with all language and the homepage with each language.
It isen’t work. Let try please

Or only install quickstart with sample data and let me know i will help u to set the multi language . I checked the package on my local system and its working fine for me Here> http://prntscr.com/9mpknb
Also do not add any redirection in the .htaccess file .

Excuse me if I repeat , I have done everything , I work with your templates and extension from 3 years , so I think I did all right . Please can you see where is the error in pirriprova.it , there is only the simple quick of ja mono. Thank you.

I checked package on my local system and its working fine with the Multi language as u can see in my screenshot . This is reason i asked the details , kindly only install quickstart with sample data and provide admin details to me so i will help u to set the multi language in that site . Without configure the package on your server its hard for me to check the problem is in package on server side (demo site working with multi language and and localhost its also work for me) .

I tested same setting on your site but got same error , its very strange bug for us too , I sent the bug report to development for further investigation and fix this bug . You can track the bug report Here

Our dev fixed the problem directly on your site because you’re using old version on your site. You should upgrade it to the latest version.
Besides that, we have released a new version, pls take a backup of your site before upgrading it.
