July 4, 2013 at 7:47 am #188684Hi guys. I read a lot of threads in JoomlArt’s forum, but I cannot find a solution for overriding css files. I am using News Show Pro GK5 module and I want to create my own style. If I copy the css file from modules/mod_news_show_pro_gk5 to templates/my-template/html/mod_news_show_pro_gk5 it doesn’t work.
I tried to create a new css file under templates/my-template/css and import it to head.php but still nothing. Is there any solution to this problem? The php overriding works perfectly.
Thanks in advance!

July 4, 2013 at 11:41 am #497952Am I doing something wrong? This happens with all Joomla extentions that I tried. The only thing that works is k2.css which is located in the folder templates/my-template/css

July 5, 2013 at 7:40 am #498052I don’t understand what you have been using (Joomla, some template or some framework). And what extension you want to change and why do you want to do that? If you whant to change some style of your site, just use the css files. If you’ve using for e.g. T3-framework and blank template, you can creat a css file in /your-template/css directory with name “custom.css” and use this file for changing style. You can read documentation of T3-Framework, for custom.css read HERE

July 5, 2013 at 8:54 am #498062I am creating my own template which is based on T3 Framework and I want to create a new style for the module “News Show Pro GK5”. If I change the module’s style.css file, then if someone update it to a newer version he will lose the changes (e.g. colors, padding, margin etc).
The only solution I found is to create a file (e.g. gk-stuff.css) and import it in default.php file of the module which is in the folder templates/my-template/html/mod_news_show_pro_gk5
I created the custom.css but it does absolutely nothing. Another solution is to copy the code from style.css of the module to template.css of my template, but I don’t want to do that. If there is another solution, I would like to know it.

I know how to override components/modules on other frameworks but I can’t make it work on T3 Framework. I think the solution I found is ok for now. The module is this: https://www.gavick.com/news-show-pro-gk5.html
