July 19, 2011 at 2:29 pm #166463Hi I am using the 1.5 version of the quick install and the site just appears as a blank page. No errors or nothing if I use the Ja-Travel Template.
No, If I use another template the site shows up fine.
I have uninstalled the ja_template and reinstalled the template and no success.
Can anyone guide me int he correct direction.

July 19, 2011 at 4:22 pm #401907Hi,
I had the EXACT same issue, I tried the Travel 1.6 version and it worked fine. The support guys were great and got it working but I have a few problems still.1) I don’t know what was wrong in the 1st place to fix it next time I try to use JA Travel
2) I can’t change the default colour colour themeI would suggest you get in touch with support they are great, just wish I knew what they did to fix it. 🙂

I have checked your site. It is using JA Nickel. You want to install more JA Travel to it. If that please follow the user guide:

Tell us if you need more help.
Thank you.

Varnish cache serverDid I miss something during installation? I checked the installation guide and required T3 is installed (during quick start installation).
Web joomla’s message appears only when I switch site off, then message appears accordingly. Nothing else.

July 21, 2011 at 12:03 pm #402288Please contact your ISP as 503 errors are usually a problem their end.
July 21, 2011 at 12:16 pm #402295Thaks for your reply, but other templates are ok. There is problem with JA Travel only.
I don’t think it’s related with ISP.Phill ModeratorPhill

July 21, 2011 at 12:33 pm #402299Can you still get into the administrator panel? If not then either speak to your host or try re-installing.
July 21, 2011 at 1:07 pm #402306Yes. I have no problem with access to administrator panel. I am able to change templates, and it looks like all settings are ok FTP enabled, and mySQL database. Can you suggest something?

July 21, 2011 at 1:25 pm #402315Thanks for your PM. I have switched off css and js optimization in your template manager so the template runs. You have a number of permission issues that are causing this problem and will cause many problems for you down the line if not corrected. In the Joomla back end goto the help>system info menu and click on the directory permissions tab and you will see what I mean.
July 21, 2011 at 1:40 pm #402319thanks for that. Shall I manually changed all permission in FTP client for all the folders and files? Do you have any suggestions? I have read there are some security issues so I don’t want to change all of them to 777. Please advise.

July 21, 2011 at 1:46 pm #402321777 should not be used your are correct. I personally would use the chown command to change ownership of all the files/folders but unless you have root access you cannot do that. In this case speak to your host who are the best people to advise as they know how their server is setup and the best way to correct this.

July 22, 2011 at 9:14 am #402499Does JA Travel actually work? I have tried the 1.5 template on numerous sites NONE of them work using the quick install. I have used many Joomla Art templates over the past year with no issues when installing them using the quick install and then changing the content to suit.
The 1.6 version installs ok with a front end that is visible but again you cant change the template at all, text, colours etc. all come back with unsable to save etc. Very frustrating, I am going to try a few of the new templates just to see if I can get them working, if not I guess I wont be using JA templates any more 🙁
To me my problems all appear to be permission related, but when looking ofr solutions you need to CMOD the folders which I cannot do on my shared hosting, however only the more recent templates have this problem?

July 22, 2011 at 10:18 am #402513I’ve tested this template in both versions and am having no problems with either.
I think you may need to speak to your host regarding ownership of the files or try and use the ftp layer built into Joomla.
July 22, 2011 at 2:21 pm #402556I did try the FTP layer built into Joomla and had a few less errors but still not what I would class as a working template. Changes I made to the default template or clones of the template do not work, I have tried to change the default logo image to text but an error is recieved. The larger problem being the site is not even visible, only the admin section works and is visible.
So are we saying that since I have been using Joomla Art templates over the past year my web hosting which I have had for 5 years has changed? It appears the way the Joomla Art templates are created must have changed surely? Older JA templates work fine on my hosting but the new ones don’t work or take more of my time to get the template working than I normally spend setting the whole site and content up?
A JA tech guy took my FTP and site login and fixed the issue (without getting in touch with my hosting company) and got the template visible on the front page but still the template was locked and nothing could be changed. I have no idea what he did so cant “fix” the template next time I use it.
It just seems strange that I have to keep asking my hosting company to change permissions on folders when I had none of this in the past?
