OK, trying to use the quick start template package for JAOpal on godaddy hosting. I don’t have joomla already installed.
Here are the steps that I’m taking:
– downloading quick start zip file from joomlart
– uploading to my file manager with godaddy in a subdirectory named “joomla”
– creating a mysql database in godaddy database manager
– going through the install of joomla online by going to http://www.mysite.com/joomla
– upon completing the installing, I get this error message at the top of the last page where it tells you to go back in and delete the installation folder:Warning: file_put_contents(D:Hosting6639199htmljoomlaconfiguration.php) [function.file-put-contents]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in D:Hosting6639199htmljoomlainstallationinstallermodelsmodel.php on line 850
– deleting the installation folder through godaddy file manager
– go to http://www.mysite.com/joomla and get an error message that no configuration file is found. Please help.
Thanks,
Scott

September 6, 2010 at 11:01 am #354730– upon completing the installing, I get this error message at the top of the last page where it tells you to go back in and delete the installation folder:
Warning: file_put_contents(D:Hosting6639199htmljoomlac onfiguration.php) [function.file-put-contents]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in D:Hosting6639199htmljoomlainstallationinstal lermodelsmodel.php on line 850
at this step, you can joomla giving you a texarea containing php codes, those codes are using for the configuration.php. because your server does not allow creating a php file via php command. so that you will copy all codes and access your host rename “configuration-disc.php” file to “configuration.php” file and then you paste the php codes into this file
September 6, 2010 at 3:30 pm #354746OK, I was able to get this fixed. Opened the configuration.php-dst file and noticed that the database information was not correct, even through the input was correct during installation (wasn’t even close).
Now I’ve got everything up, but above the slideshow on the home page is the following message:
Warning: Call-time pass-by-reference has been deprecated; If you would like to pass it by reference, modify the declaration of [runtime function name](). If you would like to enable call-time pass-by-reference, you can set allow_call_time_pass_reference to true in your INI file in D:Hosting6639199htmljoomlamodulesmod_jaslideshow2helper.php on line 164
Any ideas?

September 6, 2010 at 3:54 pm #354748Godddy Sucks in joomla hosting. I would advice you to switch companies or upgrade from the basic shared hosting. Even if you fix this issue, there will be tonnes of headaches to come.
Trust me on this
September 7, 2010 at 4:17 am #354781I’m really not sure that I completely understand what you are saying. I was able to originally get past this message by doing something similar. I had to open the configuration.php file and enter in the host name, user name and password for the database. I also removed the “-disc” from the file name. That did the trick, but the current problem is the issue below.

September 7, 2010 at 4:23 am #354782I will start a new thread with my current issue. The original problem related to this thread has been resolved.
