Hi, I have a problem with mobile parameter in my site (Joomla 2.5.9, ja_purity_ii 2.5.2, JA T3 2.5.6). Normally all works fine but if I
change iphone_layout (in template_manager/modify/profiles/layout settings) from “default” to “iphone”, (without any other change) the desktop home page doesn’t more work correctly and its aspect assume something like the mobile layout. Some suggestion? Thanks

I am not sure i get your question, it’s obvious that since you change from default to iphone is like forcing the layout to render for iphone.
Am i missing something here?

Thanks for reply. The problem is that, after changing from “default” to “iphone” in the iphone layout and saving configuration, the server seems to force the iphone layout to the desktop browser too. Here you see the desktop image before change and here after . You can see the icon for changing display from mobile to desktop. Is it normal? Thanks

Hi,
Switch to normal since the version you use has JS code to determine the device that the site is accessed and this is why you get the forced iphone layout when you make that change.

Hi Manos, after setting all profile to “default” , when I link to my home page (HP) I continue to see the mobile layout and only after forcing the desktop layout to desktop (button on the lower part of HP) i begin to see the correct layout on the computer screen : of course, before traying, I cleaned the browser cache. The same happens if I link to my HP from a different browser from my computer or from a second computer. It seems to me that there is something incorrect on the JS but i dont know what….

Hi,

This is why i asked you if you noticed any JS conflicts, also clear cache is not the only thing you need to do, you also have to clear cookies .

A link to your installation might help.

Hi,

Check the JAT3 plugin version etc you have installed, unfortunately i have no iPhone and on my Android your site looks like the desktop version ( i guess you haven’t configured that )

Hi, i guess you’re right ’cause I have older versions of ja_purity_ii (2.5.2 instead of 2.5.3) and of Ja T3 Framework plugin (2.5.6 instead of 2.6.1) but, trying to update ja_purity_ii I receive an error message (copy failed). What does it mean? Perhaps have I to update T3 Plugin before? Another site of mine (working with up to date template and plugin works fine) but how could I solve the update problem? Thanks again

Hi,

You need to check the write settings under the folder that Joomla needs to write in order to update your files.
