Hey All,

I would appreciate your help with a problem I am having with JA Opal.

I downloaded, installed, and customized the site. Everything was fine until I changed the SEO Settings in Joomla (I changed Search Engine Friendly URLs to YES and changed Use Apache mod_rewrite to YES). As soon as I did this I found that my secondary pages (anything other than the home page) came up as “Page not found.” So I renamed the htaccess.txt file to .htacess and this helped me get my secondary pages to appear. However, the pages do NOT appear properly (they are missing the appropriate modules on the right hand side of the secondary pages). Please note, these problems all disappear and the site works properly if I turn OFF the SEF option. In other words, the site does not look the same with SEF on as it does with SEF off.

Any suggestions?

Try making another template (Beez or Purity) as default and try the sef again. If it works well, then its the template to blame and if not then something wrong with the server side.

You can even try SH404sef component for activating sef, it allows you to exclude components from the sef action.
