I have been trying to find this out myself without posting something (kind of to challenge myself) in vain.

Problem 1: I can’t upload picture from “Add New Article”. I use to work with Joomla 1.0.x and on that version, there is somewhere on the top menu, we have UPLOAD for pictures. but with my new fresh Joomla 1.5.3, there is no such thing. How do I upload pictures and insert them?

Problem 2: I can’t find the “Contac us” Form. I wonder if that is included in this version. I am able to see it from the backend but NOT the front end. I don’t know where this “Contact us” Form is hiding. Has anyone seen it somewhere?

Problem 3: When posting a new Article, I CAN find the “Font Family” BUT NOT the “Font size”. is there any possibility to getting the font size as well, if that is not possible, which do I have to change something or get a new WYSIWYG ?

    Thank you.

    Please help.

    Hi ukfraternite,

I prefer to upload images using FTP. I assume you are familiar with it. The advantage is that you will get used to where the images are kept, and organize them. in fact, you will be able to use the same images for a number of applications, for example the slide show.

Use {mosimage} to link the images in specific directories to each article, as needed.

You may access it indirectly via the Components — where you specify the Contacts. At the footer section, when someone clicks on the Contact us, the default contact email will appear, as well as the “form” that the visitor fills up.

The whole point of most advanced CMS, like Joomla is to separate the “writing” and layouting, including specifying the fonts, sizes, etc.

Following this rule, it is better to customize the fonts and other features of the text, title, etc. via the CSS, usually via the template.css

    template => ja_teline_ii => css => template.css

or the other css found there. The beauty of this is that you may be able to change the “entire” page fonts, sizes, etc., simply by changing the CSS and not the articles themselves.

    Hello Cornelio,

    Thanks for your kwik response.

If I understand correctly what you said:

Problem 1: There is NO upload fonction via the admin backend – only possible with Cpanel > FTP.

    Problem 3 : That’s clear enough.

But Problem 2: I CAN see the icon or text ” Conatct us”. here is my website: http://www.imagineguinee.com

I am trying to work on it. I have looked everywhere, but can’t find.

Are you a Mac user? I use Fetch for my FTP. I can do mass upload while I do something else.

I hope I convinced you on this. I think one of the members has a messed up page because he used too much scripting within the text. However, if you really need to, I assume you know how to use the html option to edit?

You are correct. It should be at the bottom as in Joomla 1.0x:

    http://world-odyssey.org/jte10x10/index.php

but I do not see it in Joomla 1.5x

    http://world-odyssey.org/jte15x10/index.php

I found other missing stuff with Joomla 1.5x (see my post in feedback)

The best bet is to send a PM to Menalto. He was the one who taught me how to configure my Contact us so that it will work.
