i had this on a local install… i imported my database and ftp’d the file’s and connected everything up cold; so, to speak and it has been a pain to get up and running… for some reason the majority of my pix are not being recognized thoughout the template though the filepath to the pix is valid…
can anyone give me any idea’s what is going on… i have even deleted the image’s folder and then ftp’d the folder and content’s again…

perplexed…never had this happen before… the install is joomla 1.5.6

    please help

    url: http://www.crossinstrumentation.com/CrossI/

    thanks

someone please help… i am stumped beyong belief…. i’ve even pulled up the site in safari and i get a blue question mark where the pix is supposed to be… i cut and paste the url to the pix and it tells me nothing is there; though, i can look in the directory and clearly see the folder and file/s and it is there… like i said earlier i am stumped beyond belief…

    the file’s were fftp’d with dreamweaver… joomla 1.5.6… permissions set to ” 777 “…

the domain is crossinstrumentation.com and then i have placed joomla in a folder called ” CrossI “ while i complete it and test it out…

i have installed all my joomla site’s in a test folder before and this is the first time this has happened… is it a filepath issue??? i have even ftp’d folder’s to overwrite what is up there…

next option is tonight i am going to delete all the folders and ftp them from scratch…kinda grasping at straws here….ive checked the permissions throughout the directory and everything is writable…
    thanks

here is the url for my site: http://www.crossinstrumentation.com/CrossI/

here is a sample url for a picture file on the site: http://www.crossinstrumentation.com/CrossI/images/cross/products%20offered/bottom.png dont know if this is telling me i have a filepath issue ? ? ?

I dont know if this matters… the domain is setup in Dreamweaver with an ” ftp host ” — crossinstrumentation.com …then the directory as/was HTTPDOCS/CrossI and that is where I uploaded the JOOMLA install… and within all the mods and articles the filepath is : images/cross/…./….png ( is this wrong… what have I done wrong ? )

    Running Joomla 1.5.6
    ftp’d the site with dreamweaver…
    Plesk 8.2.1 MYSQL 4.1.20 PHPMyADMIN 2.8.24

the site was originally on a localhost…it is set up in a test folder called ” CrossI ” on the domain now… i exported and then imported the database… ftp’d the file- set the connections while encountering a lot of headaches to get this up and running and now the majority of my picture’s will not appear on the site… the picture’s and the folders are in the image’s directory in their own folder which in this case is ” cross “; but, they just don’t appear for some reason…permissions throughout the site are set to ” 777 “. when i open up an article or module it shows broken link…

i have tried to view it in safari and it does show question marks- with the filepath; but, when i cut and paste the url to the image the server tells me no such image exists on the server… huh ? ? ? i am confused and frustrated at this point… i have even deleted and reinstalled the folders… and ftp’d all the folders again thinking that overwriting the file’s might do the trick…. i have never had this happen before— and i have always installed joomla in a test folder while i worked on it before going live…

    someone please help….
    thanks

I am also grasping at straws, but
I would not use dreamweaver as an ftp client and I suspect that that is the issue

so, I would delete the whole site and database from the server

then using an ftp client like filezilla or file manager in plesk or cpanel upload the site.

you can use joomlapack on your local installation to zip up the site and database and that will create a nice quickstart style package for your to use to transfer the site to the server

    see if it now works

also, check you configuration file, as something may still be pointing to the local install and not the server install.
