    Good Day everyone,

A few weeks ago i started having a problem trying to look http://www.claridadpuertorico.com witch i do basic mainteance (articles, etc). I tried initially with firefox and safari and both browsers just worked perfect. But now the client (majority) have Internet Explorer and the website looks totally messy. I’m wondering if there’s any solution or tips on how to fix this issue.

This problem never happened before. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance

its messed up in opera too!

its just css padding issues, you did some customizations that messed this up.

browser compatibilty is always and issue, I make sure everything works in IE7 and then most times if it works there, it works everywhere else.

    Thanks for the response!

I don’t really remember made any modifications to css/padding beside doing substitutions to images and banners. I been looking but i can’t see where is the problem at. Any chance i can get a a tip on where to start? Thanks again!,

you didn’t, but some of the components and modules have their own css and they conflict with the template (and not just ja’s), all it takes is one that is too wide, or a div that is not closed to whack the whole layout, for instance fireboard is well known for causing right hand column issues like you have.

oing substitutions to images and banners.

Your images may be too wide or too long for the space alloted for them, sizing issues also causes these issues. Did you size the graphics before posting them

try commenting out or disabling your customizations and graphics until you find the one that skewed your layout.

One thing you should do when working on a site check in all major browsers as you go.

Once I get into a site I test it in each browser after any extension is done. It may take a few minutes but it saves a few hours when you are trying to figure out what caused a problem…

That is how I do it any how and it is a pain in the A@# but what do you do. You need to make sure it works in at least the following.

    Internet Explorer (I hate)
    Goggle (which is not bad)
    Firefox ( I prefer)
    Safari.

If you are going to have a problem it probably will be with Internet Explorer…

Just keep this in mind when you are working on a huge kick-ass site that is several hundred pages in size. I have on coming up soon…
