June 5, 2009 at 11:14 pm #141740Hi everyone!
We launched our website to day, but now we have some problems. It’s made with the Ja Rutile Template, and now it will not show correctly in Internet Explorer. It looks good in Firefox and other browsers.
What is going on? Any ideas?
Thank you guys!

June 5, 2009 at 11:15 pm #307106You might’ve been better off posting this in the JA Rutile Forum to be honest.
Can we get a link anyway?tversover Friendtversover

June 6, 2009 at 3:38 pm #307163Thanks for abswering, and for the tip! The problem is that when I tried to upload the extension the joomla program said: Can not find a XML file in the package. What’s wrong?

June 6, 2009 at 4:35 pm #307165That worked, but still the website isn’t showing correctly. I get a window that says the browser isn’t able to open the web page. Strange….

June 6, 2009 at 5:17 pm #307168Are you having this problem in all IE browsers, or just a specific one?

June 6, 2009 at 5:31 pm #307172There was a couple other solutions in this thread. Not sure if it will fix your problem though. Remember to backup before you try it.

Also, JA updated their templates a few months back to fix IE8 bugs. Might want to make sure you have the latest template version.

June 6, 2009 at 5:39 pm #307173Also, I would google something like “Joomla Internet Explorer Cannot Open the Internet Site Operation Aborted”.
I did, and came up with tons of entries and articles. Most point to things like javascript conflict or Google Maps API.
There are several articles suggesting to move the lovation of Javascripts…like this one:
“If there are any Javascripts running inside the body tag or inside a table which is directly a child of body, then most of the times this error is bound to happen. The solution is to move the script to the top or bottom of the body tag or even moving it after the body. The script can also be put inside a function and then calling it from window.onload. Another solution to this problem is to add defer=”defer” in the script tag.
I checked my code for scripts which were running inside the body tag and was a direct child to it. Then I moved all my Javascript codes to bottom of the body tag so that it will not interfere while parsing the page. I tested my blog in IE after I made the change and I could see the difference, the error was not happening any more. I checked in different versions of IE to confirm.” http://www.nirmaltv.com/2007/08/08/how-to-fix-internet-explorer-cannot-open-the-internet-site-operation-aborted-error/
Good luck, and may the force be with you. 😎

June 10, 2009 at 7:05 pm #307572Hi everyone,
Thank you so much for all the help so far. We still have some problems in Internet Explorer. Here are the latest news:
The website show better in IE 8 than in older versions. In the older versions the user gets kicked out of the site with the message “”. That happens sometimes in 8.0 also, but after a little while. I wondered if it could have something to with the Google Analytics script I inserted in the Body tag, but I tried to remove it and it didn’t help.
So, what could this be? I’m so confused.
Also, in older versions of Explorer JA News and Ja News Frontpage isn’t appearing correctly. But it’s fine in 8.0. Is there something I can do to set whether the page is made primarily for 7.0 or 8.0. I believe I have read something about changing some attributes in the css, php og html….
I’m sorry to keep going on about this, but It is very frustrating. Would be so thankful for any further help!
