I have had Purity on my site since it first came out. I am trying to update to Joomla 3.1 but I cant for the life of me figure out how to even get this latest version (ja_purity_ii.v2.5.4 w/ T3 Framework) to work properly even after just doing a fresh install. I have tried clean installs on both Joomla 2.5 and Joomla 3.1 and have also tried the quickstart versions for both Joomla 2.5 and 3.1. My host is Rochen which is compatible with the latest Joomla versions.
In all cases, the install seems to go OK(and I don’t install the content), but when I go to the site, the home page looks like this:
and half the links(which should not even be there since I installed without the content right?) don’t work. I can’t anything(modules, plugins to work like the Login Form to show up at all in whatever position I try. By default, the enabled Login form should be on the left side, but it’s not there? I have tried everything to get the login form to show up with no luck. If I disable all the modules and plugins for the heck of it, nothing on the site changes(everything still shows up!!) I am obviously doing something horribly wrong, but I have followed the installation instructions, so I need some serious help. Thank you.

August 10, 2013 at 5:25 pm #501826Though I can’t be 100% certain, I think what the issue is is that you didn’t have any template overrides in place to protect your customizations/modifications when you update your T3 Framework version.
To better explain this issue, please refer to THIS TUTORIAL REFERENCE

August 10, 2013 at 9:48 pm #501835Thanks so much for the reply but do not have access to the link you have provided. All I have done is installed your quickinstall file for Joomla 3.1 in a subdirectory as a test site. I have not even moved my site over yet so there are no customizations/modifications. Everything should work like normal I would think.
At this point, the only problem is nothing responds on the frontend when I make changes to the backend. When I try and add or remove a module or add an article or try and change positions of items on the front page, nothing changes on the frontend!!
Also, what do I need to do to get faster responses? I am happy to compensate JoomlaArt for some prompt assistance, I just dont see a service you guys offer that would work for me. Would a membership help me with this template? Thank you much.

August 12, 2013 at 8:59 am #501940Hi bluestreak,
You need to clear the JAT3 cache to make your change to be effective on the front-end. Do it each time after changing any settings in the backend.
August 12, 2013 at 8:42 pm #501998I had already tried clearing the JAT3 cache and most of the time that did not work. Actually what I had to do was enable the development mode in the global system settings. Only took me two days to figure that out!!

August 13, 2013 at 1:22 am #502006Hi bluestreak,
It seems that there is a problem with assigning the profiles containing layout to the menu items which causes the module (Login on the left) disappear as usual. If possible, would you mind sending me PM with your website’s credentials ? I will help to check your issue and come back with detailed solution then.
