Sorry, but it is not working.

We uninstalled jaem and reintalled jaem v 1.1.2.
We made the update to 2.5.0 and we have have again this error. See screenshot.

Warning: proc_open() has been disabled for security reasons in /home/www/path/administrator/components/com_jaextmanager/lib/jaupdater/core/helper/MysqlHelper.php on line 117
Successfully upgraded to version 2.5.0. Please refresh this page to see the version update.

What can we do to fix this ?

If I may step in an offer a quick suggestion while you continue to work with n6rej

It could be that your web host may have updated their PHP recently…the latest version now comes with “proc_open” disabled by default.

In order to eliminate this error message you may need to do ONE of the following things:

• Remove the proc_open string from the disable_functions at php.ini file
• Ask your hosting provider to remove the string above if you don’t have an access to the php.ini file
• Change hosting provider which allows the running of the proc_open function.

@n6rej
Thank. We uninstalled and reinstalled the 2.5.0 version.

@jwbrett. Thank for the tips. Our hosting provider say that :
<blockquote>Is the proc_open function enabled?
The “Executed by a command” function (proc_open) is not enabled on our servers, for the same reason as exec(), system(), etc.</blockquote>

So what can we do to fix ? We don’t have access to the php.ini file. So the solution is ?
<blockquote>Ask your hosting provider to remove the string above if you don’t have an access to the php.ini file</blockquote>

Thank in advance.

This is one of the php.ini items that MUST be changed inside the file and cannot be overriden by a .htaccess file. So short of changing providers. I’m sorry.

Still, I think you should continue working with Bear on his ideas to make sure this is indeed the issue.

Crossing my fingers for you!
