Is it possible to switch profiles depending on the selected menu? In other words, I’d like to change the background colour depending on the selected main menu item.
I was expecting such an option in the menu-item settings (JA Extended)Thanks in advance.

November 16, 2010 at 9:58 am #362998Yes and that is part of the power of T3. For some reason I cannoit access the guides at the moment to post a link but if you take a look at the guides and the wiki you will soon work it out. It is a simple matter of assing overide to menu items. You can even do it for articles.

November 16, 2010 at 10:42 am #363002Thanks.
I found something about assigned menu’s in the Wiki but when I look at my admin page of the template, the option Menu Asignment only shows
Menus: Cannot assign default template.Do I overlook something?

November 16, 2010 at 11:20 am #363005Take a look at the guide for telineIIIV2 and you will see how to setup different profiles based on menu options.
Basically, on the template config page on the Global tab you will see profile override settings. You add your overrides in there selecting the required profile. I wish I could access it myself so I could be more precise but I am having internet troubles in my office today.

November 17, 2010 at 9:27 am #363133Thanks again. I have studied all wiki’s and videos until late last night and now understand the theory of it but it didn’t work for me. So any links to detailed descriptions would be highly appreciated.
I also tried it with a clean install of the template, including necessary updates, but ended with no results.
Could it be a bug in the template itself, as it is quite new.Phill ModeratorPhill

November 17, 2010 at 9:49 am #363140I had the same trouble when I first looked at it. I had everything setup as per the docs but still the profiles did not change for me. Then I discovered that the profiles are also stored locally in the cookies and clearing those fixed the problem. See if that works and if it doesn’t then I will do it on a local install of CP and see if I can post screenshots on my setup.

November 17, 2010 at 4:48 pm #363192Sorry for jumping in on this thread, but I was wondering does T3 have the power to jump between actually templates when different menu items is selected. This may seem odd but basically i would like a very clean minimal screen/template for my homepage and then all other pages to be a certain template but I feel the homepage could be a different template and work well this way as I want to significantly alter it like a splash page 🙂
So mY question is can you switch between templates? :-[

November 17, 2010 at 7:04 pm #363203Sort of. You cannot switch to a completely different template (though there are tools available on the JED that do that) but you could build a very basic profile taking out all that is not requires and adjusting the colours to suit.
