I have attempted to change a number of things under the Profiles admin tab, but the changes will not save. If I make a change or attempt to do an “Apply” the Apply button just keeps recycling. See the attached image:

I installed and tested a similar template, ja_social, and run into the same problem. None of the profile settings will save. On a different server this works fine. I changed the permissions of the params.ini file to various settings. It makes no difference. On the site where all is swell the permissions are:

-r-xr-xr-x 1 bobm3 bobm3 148 Dec 6 12:05 params.ini

I tried 555, 666, 777 – no help. I also manually edited the file and updated the color to:

pages_profile=all=red-colorn
devmode=1
cache=0
cache_exclude=
infomode=1
optimize_css=0
optimize_js=0
optimize_folder=t3-assets
optimize_exclude=

No dice. This has got to be file permissions, but what file?

Don’t you love it? Sometime back it was recommended that I install a joomla secure .htaccess file on the website. Apparently it is overly secure. I made a backup of this secure file, copied a standard one in place, and now it works. Scratching my head.
