November 19, 2012 at 1:44 pm #182386Hey guys,
I am having a problem with the puresite template and jreviews. I wrote to the developers of jreviews about it and they replied the following:
“””Your template loads a very old version of jQuery that is only visible once the js compression is disabled in the template settings http://screencast.com/t/ettW3PAExYMO
That version of jQuery is no compatible with JReviews. You need to get your template upgraded to use the latest version and then you can disable jQuery in the JReviews configuration (NOT jQuery UI since your template doesn’t load that)”””
Please help me with this. Cheers

November 20, 2012 at 7:35 am #473569Hi johannesdach,
Did they tell you which version of jQuery will be compatible with their extensions? Please do try to update that version in the directory as they advised.

November 20, 2012 at 11:05 am #473611Hi Saguaros,
thanks for the reply. I am asking them right now.
When you say “Please do try to update that version”, what do you mean exactly? How can I update jquery? It doesn’t seem to be a plugin as I can’t find it either in the extension manager nor in your joomlart extension manager. thanks for your helpjohannesdach Friendjohannesdach

November 20, 2012 at 11:50 am #473615To follow up on this. The guys from jreviews say that version 1.8.x is recommended while 1.7.x “should” work.

November 20, 2012 at 2:23 pm #473626Hi again,
You can simply go to the directory in the screencast of your first post: http://screencast.com/t/ettW3PAExYMO and replace the jquery 1.6 file with one of attached file (one for jquery 1.7 and one for jquery 1.8)
REMEMBER to backup the old files first

November 21, 2012 at 9:42 am #473758That didn’t work. I just replaced the file with the new one. But still the same problem. According to firebug now no jquery is loaded. Don’t I need to change the code so that the new file gets loaded since it has a new filename?

November 22, 2012 at 9:53 am #473912Hi Johannes again,
After replacing the new JS file, please also open directory: /templates/ja_puresite (your default template)/etc/layouts, then open xml file which is respective with the layout you want to use this new file.
For example, with default layout, open file: default.xml:
<scripts>
<file>js/mega.rjd.js</file>
<file>js/jquery/jquery-1.6.4.min.js</file> <<<< change name to new file's name
<file>js/jquery.masonry.js</file>
<file>js/jquery.mediaqueries.js</file>
<content>jQuery.noConflict();</content>
</scripts>Then clean the cache.
