Have chosen Purity iii for developing a site, has been working in dev environment and also on test server. After some days testing both instances refused to be accessible, producing only blank pages, whether fron front- nor backend. Also when in the backend a different temlate is chosen, it is impossible to access the preview or style edit.
Also been tested with Edge and Chrome

Dev server: Joomla 3.4.5, PHP 5.6.11, MySQLi 5.6.25, Firefox 42.0
Test server: Joomla 3.4.5, PHP 5.6.11-1, MySQLi 5.5.46, Firefox 42.0

kindly set the error reporting to Maximum from configuration.php file and check the error details .
Template does not have problem like you mentioned , try to revert the custom changes and check it again .
