Thanks I have made changes to both php files and saved.
I totally understand the code but I am really confused why I am not seeing any changes. Am I seeing a cache of the old site or is it more.
When I use firebug debug and inspect the html code I still see the old code!!!
why is this?

Which file and how did you change?

You can open file: /templates/ja_mero/css/themes/light (theme you are using)/template.css

around line 2566, you can see :

.ja-header {
padding-bottom: 20px;
padding-top: 20px;
}

add your own background image

EVERYTHING IS NEARLY sorted thanks very much just two more issues I am trying to get rid of some padding, cannot find the right attribute to change here is an image:

it is the little white gap. between the logo and body.

Also when I resize (only at a certain size) I get this ugly layout half the page is all on the left, I only get this at a certain size, I can;t seen to stop it I tried changing things in responsive layout mode in template manager.
