In the JA Regulus demo page, the main body area is shown as a single wide column. However, in my tests I get the first story as a single column, with the next two in two-column format (side by side).

How do I get the home page to look like your demo page?

You may want to go to Admin –> Menu manager –> Main menu then click on Home.
There is a list of parameters on the right, and you can set the numbers of columns to 1
