    Hello,

No matter what browser, computer, etc. I pull up our site on, the name and email on the quick contact module are already filled in as our admin username and admin email. I can delete them and then see the “Your Name” and “Your Email” we have set up in the backend to display there, but everytime I pull up the site it automatically fills in again. Any suggestions? I’ve peeked around in the code but am not familiar with it enough to know what to change.

    Thanks for any help!

    Hi SM,

Do you mean that your admin usename / password have already been filled in form field? It must due to cache from browser in your machine, try to open in another machine or post your site url here so that I can check.

    regards

It is our admin username and email address that are filled in on the quick contact form. I have cleared every cache I know how to. I have put our site online for a bit so you can see if you experience the same. Our url is http://www.nextconsulting-llc.com.

    Thanks,

Actually now none of the things we set up in the backend our appearing. The fields are supposed to say “Your Name”, “Your Email”, “Subject” and “. . .” but none of those are showing up, only the admin username and email which is being automatically filled in.

Everything is working correctly now, for the most part. Not sure what changed. No problems in Chrome or FireFox. Still a small problem in IE though. The text we added in the backend to show up in the fields (ex: “Your Name” “Your Email” etc.) isn’t showing up. Anyone else have this problem with IE? Any solutions?

    Thanks,

    Hi SM,

It seems that your site is in offline mode, could you make it online or pm me an admin account to access? and tell me version of IE you’re facing that issue.

Site is online now. Using IE 9. Original problem is back, also, where it automatically fills in “Your Name” and “Your Email” with our admin username and email address.

    Thanks,

    HI SM,

This is how your site looks within IE9 in my end:

    It shows blank field now.

Yes, but those blank fields should show what we set up in the back end… “Your Name” “Your Email” “Subject” and “. . .”

It works in other browser types but not IE I guess.

You’re right, this is a known issue. It will not work in IE because IE browser still doesn’t support placeholder and HTML5.

See this thread for solution: http://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/quick-contact-placeholder-text-not-showing-in-ie/

    Hope it helps.
