September 11, 2009 at 5:22 pm #144128:confused: I have tried to install Trona quick start through Admin and FTP. In Admin I believe that the file is too large to upload and in FTP I’ve uploaded the quick start to the templates file however it wouldn’t show up in the admin section so that I could make it my default template for Joomla 1.5.10. So I’ve deleted it from the FTP backend. Now I’m confused as to how exactly to go about uploading Quick Start Trona into Joomla. I would do it through FTP I’m just not exactly sure as to where I should upload the file to since it wouldn’t show up the first time. Any suggestions would be great. Thank you.

September 11, 2009 at 8:05 pm #317122Looks like you are mixing some parts up.
The quickstart is an whole joomla installation with the template and the modules included. So you cant use that installation with an already installed joomla.
If you want to do the quickstart then you will have to upload the quickstart files (without joomla already installed) and do the joomla installation from it, when the installation is finished you will have joomla AND your template up and running.
if you already have joomla installed and want to keep it then you will have to install the template (NOT the quickstart) trought the template manager in the backend.

September 12, 2009 at 2:40 am #317141Thank youso much for your response. So what your saying is that quick start already includes joomla? So since I already have Joomla that I would need to replace my current Joomla and applications with Quick start? Or something along those lines? I’m kinda new so heres a novice question for you…how do I replace my current Joomla with Quick Start?

September 12, 2009 at 4:07 am #317142just delete your joomla install and its associated DB
upload by FTP the quickstart zip file, then go to cpanel/filemanager and expand it, there will be all of the joomla files with the template and demo all set up
create your db
run your install of joomla you just uploaded, make sure you click yes to install sample data during the install
done

September 13, 2009 at 5:49 am #317210Thank you again. I had just one more quick question. Is there someway to install just the sample data to look like the demo or is a complete installation of quick start necessary?
