September 6, 2008 at 8:33 pm #269147Not sure how I feel about a smiley face. I joined the templates club so I could install this and have been spinning around for HOURS with no luck installing. I get this message:
Warning: file_put_contents(/home/…./tmp/install_48c2d135bd51c/) [function.file-put-contents]: failed to open stream: Is a directory in /home/…/libraries/joomla/filesystem/file.php on line 298
The instructions are all over the place. And not clear. I am very discouraged.

September 6, 2008 at 11:31 pm #269153I am not an expert here. I am pretty much a novice still. You may have already tried this, if so, please disregard this post.
looks like you are doing a fresh install of joomla + template using quickstart. If that is the case, – maybe the downloaded file is not complete/corrupted? Can you re-download and upload again and try? I have had issues like that before with download managers and FTP clients.scotty Friendscotty

September 7, 2008 at 1:18 am #269159Shirson the method for installing this Quickstart is the very same for all the previous templates. Have a look at the userguides for those. (Actually the userguide for this one is up now)
Or is the problem that you don’t know how to install Joomla in the first place? If so, see The Absolute Beginners Guide to Joomla!
September 7, 2008 at 3:23 am #269166My Joomla has been installed and is up and running with pretty much a default template and sample data. http://pineplainsviews.com I am having troubles with the template. Should I be using the Quickstart? I will be giving it another shot in the morning, but I would love some advice as to exactly which file to upload into Joomla through the extension manager.
Thanks

September 7, 2008 at 11:43 am #269194Ahhh… your trying to upoad the Quickstart in to an existing Joomla site. Don’t do this!
The quickstart is a complete Joomla install based on the live demo for that template. You should install the quickstart the same way you installed your default Joomla site by unzipping the contents to your web directory and making sure to install the (demo) sample data.
If you just want to install the template on to an existing Joomla site then you must use ja_pyrite_template_j15.zip which is on the Template folder within the main JA Pyrite zip. (Make sure then to select that template within the template control panel)
If you have any other problems post them here and I’ll be happy to help if I can.

😀 Okay, Okay, I’m up and running! I just needed the name of the file. 😀
To be frank, it did not even dawn on me that Quickstart would include the Joomla! install along with the template. I can see how that would be useful for some people, but my host, DreamHost, has a one-click install that is pretty easy to use and if you install it that way you always have access to one-click updates. That is how I installed the program and got blinders on me.
Big THANKS shouted out!

September 8, 2008 at 11:34 am #269477Hello
For my part, i have installed the template (and only the template), i work on line with joomla 1.5, but error message when i select i by default…
I tried with the extensions but still error message: Fatal error: Call to undefined method JAsplitmenu: getCfgO in /home/netredaction/includes/application.php on line 372.
And now i try with my old template, i think the extensions enabled cause a problem:Fatal error: Call to undefined method JFactory::getdate() in /home/netredaction/modules/mod_jabulletin/helper.php on line 95
I just wanted this wonderful template but..
What can i do -
