January 30, 2009 at 11:36 am #288948Thankyou for the rundown on php and modern cms standards — this stuff is new to me … i used to create my website with html and dreamweaver so you’ve summed up the big divide in my understanding..
The quickstart zip i will install later is for the Ja Teline Template quickstart — which i gather has the same process in most joomla quickstart zips. So i gather installing joomla is ok or will joomla be included in ja teline 11 qucikstart,
the process of joomlas installation has given me more fimiliarity with the program itself plus the cms process…..
Ok so now how the hell do i install quickstart is it going to be the same method if so i think i can do this :)……… it is possible people struggling out there to installl quickstart,,,, (it seems)
Ok so i am halfway through the installation page of joomla, I will install this, and then follow the same method i have used with joomla to install the quickstart ( which in my case is the quickstart for the Ja Teline 11 template) is this correctt? then i’m going to verify the 4 – 7 methods discussed earlier later….

January 30, 2009 at 11:46 am #288953The process for installing any quickstart.zip is identical to installing Joomla.
However, as I mentioned above, you CANNOT install quickstart over an already existing Joomla site as the quickstart already contains a Joomla install. You will need to drop your database (or create a new one) and delete any files and folders from a previous Joomla install.
Also… you are throwing yourself in at the deep end a little with Teline. It is a more advanced form of Joomla template and require a configuration that is different to normal Joomla sites.

January 30, 2009 at 11:53 am #288956I will cross that bridge when i come to it — in regards to the difficulty working with Teline 11.
So just to clarify what you are saying is that the Ja Teline 11 Template zip has a new installation of Joomla 1.5

January 30, 2009 at 12:03 pm #288960Ok Thankyou i will go and uninstall the current joomla installation and reinstall it via the quickstart setup ………
So what you are saying is if i unzip the quickstart folder and place it in a folder and upload it using the method i have done already i will have a fresh installation of joomla 1.5 With all the template modules and sample data already there ie like the Ja Teline 11 Demo template , already set up?

January 30, 2009 at 12:05 pm #288962Take a look at this post here:
http://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/quickstart-installation-guide/Its for another template, but the steps is the same to install the quickstart.
And if you install the quickstart its with the template, demo content and modules and it needs to be done as a fresh, clean installation.scotty Friendscotty

Yes that is what I am saying. Just make sure that during the Install process when you are given the option to install the sample data that you DO click the button…. otherwise your database will remain empty.

January 30, 2009 at 12:26 pm #288968The Quickstart IS Joomla!!!
It just has some extra bits added on to look like the demo site.
Instead of calling it Quickstart we could call it Joomal+DemoContent.

So if i use another quickinstall zip for say another template i will not be able to install it because i have already installed teline quickstart therefore joomla too ….
Or can i install the demo content kit seperately…..
