October 15, 2011 at 9:21 am #169694Hello all (I’m new here).
I’ve just purchased and installed the Quickstart from the JA ANION for Joomla 1.7 and I think I miss files in the the download. Once I clik “read more” in EDITOR PICK (e.g. Jonah Hex), the page displayed is an awfull html plain text without any template or graphics at all !Do I have to download a php or css file from somewhere else ?
in fact, same is happening for every article
I want to add, that I made no modification since I installed the quickstart folderManos ModeratorManos

October 15, 2011 at 9:54 am #419455Hi,
This is a SEF issue you can disable sef from global configuration or you can rename the original htaccess.txt file to .htaccess (this file starts with a dot so it’s -> dothtaccess) and see if that solves the problem!
Regards
Manos

October 15, 2011 at 5:19 pm #419531tried first solution : nothing happened (turn OFF sef in global conf)
tried second solution : got this message and site is down now (both site + admin) “Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_CLASS in /homez.134/cinekioso/www/includes/version.php on line 17”

I’m editing the file at the moment and removed the .htaccess
wich parameter do I need to edit ?public $sef = ‘0’;
public $sef_rewrite = ‘0’;
public $sef_suffix = ‘0’;to get back to my topic : do I neeed to reconsider the use of JA Anion or can I hope to be able to use it at the end ? and is it a common bug to all your templates ?

October 16, 2011 at 12:51 pm #419643Hi,
This is not a bug at all it’s just that your host doesn’t meet the minimum requirements to run Joomla as you can see on your website right now you get the message:
Your host needs to use PHP 5.2.4 or higher to run Joomla 1.7.

October 16, 2011 at 2:10 pm #419650Ok, this is just because, meanwhile, I’ve switched to an earlier version of a template : ERIO. and I just got it installed
now it works, (just had to edit the .htaccess for selecting proper PHP version – you must have visit just before that)
but same problem occurs while I try to enter the site : no graphics at all when entering content
(please use the link provided to you in private-same like the one that gave you the PHP error) or try also clic on “Hi, I am a Webdesigner and Photographer.” for instanceso I repeat my question : do all your template have same issue ?
if that is the case, please tell me now, this is a serious matter here and I can’t afford non-professionnal template.
– been working on this only one issue since I bought membershipManos ModeratorManos

1. Your server doesn’t support mod_rewrite for SEF
2. You have to create an .htaccess file with Joomla SEF instructions and the instructions you have already on your .htaccess file so you can make SEF work on your serverBut you can also ask your host about the available modules on your server so you can create the proper .htaccess file. What i am trying to say here is that if your server is able to compete with Joomla minimum requirements then you can have a smooth installation of our templates on your server without problems

October 16, 2011 at 2:33 pm #419657ok, thx for this direct but important answer.
my provider supports mod_rewrite
http://guide.ovh.com/HtaccessModRewritebasically, English this says it supports mod_rewrite
.htaccess was created as requested
including the php version code
SetEnv PHP_VER 5
-> but that is because I changed to ERIO . at the end, I don’t need that template, I’ll use ANIONthe only parameter that could be wrong is the one I set in Joomla, global conf
at this time “URL rewriting” is turned to “NO”
only “Search Engine Friendly URLs” is turned to yes… the rest is “NO”so is there a specific parameter I missed here ?

October 16, 2011 at 3:46 pm #419661As far as i can tell there is no other parameter needed but i always suggest ( this is what i do when i create a new website ) to set all those parameters to NO.
I deal with SEF after i have done with development.

October 22, 2011 at 10:55 am #420839just to let you know (and so that it -might- help others with same issue)
I’ve tested the install with quickstart for JOOMLA 1.5
and there is no problem using SEFbut I had to go back to J1.7
finally I got it work (but I can’t use SEF)<blockquote>This is a SEF issue you can disable sef from global configuration or you can rename the original htaccess.txt file to .htaccess</blockquote>
just do that in the reverse way, and DO BOTH !
1st: .htaccess (keep also htaccess.txt@root
2nd : turn OFF sef@pascm
thx for the help -
