upon copying the quickstart folders and files to a blank www directory when I type in localhost
    into address bar …

I am presented with the screen that states I need to remove the joomla installation directory…of course when I do that I can do nothing else as there has been no site setup…

    thoughts?

    Haha, that’s odd.
What distribution do you use? WAMP, XAMPP? What version of Joomla? Feed us details.
Try to create a fresh sql database and try again.
Is this happening with another JA Quickstart? If it is, your server is missconfigured, else the package is broken.

thank you for response… I appreciate it.

I am using an XP professional box for testing with the most current WAMP version.
I have removed and re-installed the WAMP server after removeing the WAMP directory and all it’s subfolders.

    Joomla 1.5 and 1.5.6

Other quickstarts are fine … no problem….hope that is more information.

Ok, you were right about that error.
It seems that develorpers built the release and forgot to delete de configuration.php from the quickstart package.

Unpack the ja_nerine_quickstart_j15.zip to your web folder, delete the configuration.php and proceed with normal install.

    Have fun.:)
