I have just used the Quickstart package to install a fresh Joomla-1.5.8 site and this is the error I get immediately after installation.
<blockquote>PHP Warning: plgContentJA_highslide::require_once(plugins/content/highslide/parser.php) [function.plgContentJA-highslide-require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in <Joomla-install-path>pluginscontentja_highslide.php on line 67 PHP Fatal error: plgContentJA_highslide::require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required ‘plugins/content/highslide/parser.php’ (include_path='<Php-Install-Path>PhPincludes’) in <Joomla-Install-Path>pluginscontentja_highslide.php on line 67
</blockquote>The files and folders are all in place. Installation completed successfully and I have removed the “Installation” folder after install. Please help.
I have other Joomla-based sites on this server, so I know that it is not a server or php problem.

January 14, 2009 at 11:15 am #286372Without being able to see it, best thing I can say is check that the directory permissions are set to at least 755.

January 14, 2009 at 12:41 pm #286392Just noticed you’re using 1.5.8 too, the latest JaZinc download should come with Joomla v1.5.9.
January 14, 2009 at 4:11 pm #286422Then it must be 1.5.9
January 14, 2009 at 4:13 pm #286423Hello, SP. Thanks for your response.
What do you expect to be able to “see”, and how do I make you see it? The only thing that could be seen on this new install is the error message I posted above.
Permission is correct, because I can use other templates successfully.

January 14, 2009 at 4:29 pm #286424check if plugins/content/highslide/ actually exist on your webserver, as the error msg says its missing.

January 14, 2009 at 4:36 pm #286428Are you running JaZinc on your local computer or an online web server?
If it’s a template issue, I’ll try and download the JaZinc Quick Start package when I get home, to see if it’s an error with the package itself.
As for what I can see, the FTP structure, and admin side.
Try checking your directory permissions via admin cp -> help -> system info -> directory permissions
It’s unlikely that will be the cause, but it’s a possibility. Check that HighSlide is installed, working and active too.
January 14, 2009 at 4:51 pm #286432Thanks, sp.
This is on a server. And, no, I cannot get into the admin CP. Same error.
January 14, 2009 at 4:52 pm #286433All the folders and files are there.

January 14, 2009 at 5:02 pm #286434Well if I get the same error when I install later tonight, the JA guys may have made an error of some sort.
I’ll keep you posted.
January 14, 2009 at 5:21 pm #286436Thanks, SP. I just did another test install with the Zeolite template and everything smoothly. I added the Zinc template, and no problem So, yeah, it’s something with the Zinc QuickStart install.
UPDATE: I say it is a JA_Zinc QStart problem because I just used the quickstart again to install Zinc OVER my new test install. Install went fine, able to get into the admin panel, but when I tried to get to the frontend, the same error comes up. Even switching templates back to Zeolite now brings up the same error.

January 14, 2009 at 5:45 pm #286442Post up the issue in the Bugs forum and mark it for mods/admin attention.
I’ll verify nonetheless later on.
January 14, 2009 at 5:51 pm #286443SOLVED: I went into the JA_Highslide.php and changed line 67 to look for the parser.php file in the correct location like this:
<blockquote>require_once(‘Drive-Letter:My-Common-Web-Folderthe-folder-for-THIS-instance-of Joomlapluginscontenthighslideparser.php’);</blockquote>
So, apparently, the require_once directive wasn’t properly locating the root path to the website location.

January 14, 2009 at 5:53 pm #286444It’s quite strange you’d need to provide an absolute path rather than relative.
Good spy skills either way!
January 14, 2009 at 5:56 pm #286445SP,
my experience with JA admins is that they are not very responsive, so I have come to rely on forum users like you for assistance. I still have a PM that I sent to one of the admins (AFTER I had posted the question in the public forum) that has been completely ignored for over a week or so, even though I still can’t find answers to the questions I asked in that PM.
I appreciate your assistance, SP.
