Umm. You weren’t smiling as you tried to install? did you download all the items in the dl section and are trying to ‘install’ not the quickstart but the everything package? (I mean did you not unzip first find just the quickstart.zip to install)
Are you getting any error messages like can’t find installation xml file etc.?

I installed the quickstart to wamp fine so for me the qs is not faulty, how’s your connection to JA downloads? If it’s very slow dur to everyone using it has the zip become corrupted, that’s about all I can think of.

Unzipped, uploaded and installed and I have tried all 3 options for installing sample data but I just get an empty site?

Is the quickstart supposed to be a blank version of the Wall or complete as per the demo?

I am having the same problem here. Quickstart install the template without content.

For clarification – without CONTENT or without IMAGES?

The Quickstart, which I’ve installed on three separate instances today without a hitch – only comes with spacer images, NOT the images you see on the demo. The images are not licensed to be released with the demo.

This is what you should be seeing.

It includes SPACER images, not those seen in the DEMO. The images are not licensed for demo release.

You are asking us to guess. Can you give us more hints…like perhaps your URL?

Once uploaded make sure your /tmp directory is writeable…that could be your issue.
Also make sure you are installing into a clean database…NEVER been used before.
And if you tried and failed…DROP the database and recreate it.

the / tmp directory is writable. The problem can not be here … I do not usually have problems with installations …

I’m trying on two different hosts

Then you’ve got either a bad copy (download) or a bad upload.
All I can suggest is to download the QUICKSTART again, delete the database you created, create a new database, upload to server and http://adoroo.com/jawall/ again.

Sorry for your trouble. And good luck.

I just have a totally empty site, no content images or text not what you would expect from a 52MB file?

When you get to the install sample data there are 3 alternatives which do you pick? Can’t remember what they are as I have deleted the installation.

Will try and fresh download and re-upload, not had any issues before with JA templates.

I have had previously the same problem you are experiencing, and for me it was when I uploaded and extracted the zip file on the server.

What are you doing, if not already try extracting the quickstart file locally and upload everything…..
