OK, I want to start from a site that looks like the QuickStart, but be able to manage my Joomla installation with Fantastico. This should be a familiar scenario to many…
One handy thing that Yootheme does is to provide only the demo content in a .zip file, then just have you run the demo_content.sql, and upload the images, and everything usually works.
So, I installed my Fantastico site, and…
In JA world, I went into the QuickStart .zip and found the sample_data.zip. I ran it, but, duh, the table names are prefixed with #__ so that the installer can replace that with the table prefix.
So, I removed my #__ tables and replaced all of the #__ in the file with jos_, and ran the script again, and now the site looks basically like the demo.
I uploaded the images that were in the Quickstart, and now I’ve got the demo site.
Hope this helps someone…
Questions:
1) I had to unzip the whole QuickStart just to get the images out so that I could FTP them. I use 7-zip – Is there a smarter way?
2) Is there a smarter way to do this whole process – to get the demo site, but under Fantastico?
Thanks,
Ken
