Something strange is happening with JA Comment component (Joomla 1.6 and JA Comment 1.0.1.)
1. when someone replies quoting a message, the admin template on the backend disappears and I got an error message :
Fatal error: Call to undefined method JAdministrator::getSiteURL() in ……. /components/com_jacomment/libs/dcode.php on line102 – but only in case when quote is posted. :-[
After that I’m not able to delete post from backend only directly from database. After deleting this post with quote from database everything goes back to normal.2. When someone posts a message and click on Submit comment button – nothing happens, you just can see the message “Loading…” After refreshing the page the comment is there.
Do you have any idea why this happens?nghiatd Friendnghiatd

February 21, 2011 at 1:54 pm #377760Hi!
Thank you for your help.
The first problem is solved by your attached dcode.php – the backend problem wiht quoting is OK now. (I downloaded the latest version, reinstalled the component but the problem was still there – so the package contains some bugs I think.)
But the second problem still exists: when you click on Submit comment button you can see the message Loading – and nothing happens. You can see your comment only after refreshing the whole page.
Do you have any idea for that too?thuanlq Friendthuanlq

February 22, 2011 at 7:11 am #377884Hi Mcsh,
The message Loading shows and nothing happens when you click on Submit comment could be due to the ajax post sends comment data but it does not receives response data, the message Loading only goes off only when ajax post is completed.
Please provide me your website information via ticket id JVT-166-84997, i need access to debug in your site, and give you solutions. Thanks,

I think your problems were due to the conflict between jacomment’s javascript and some other javascript. Please provide me your website information via ticket id JVT-166-84997, i need debug this problem in your site.

February 25, 2011 at 3:14 am #378348Hi Mcsh,
I think i saw the problem, your site includes one version of jquery, but jacomment includes another version, so there’s conflict. To resolve this problem, please do as following:
– Open the file “jacomment.php” in the folder “/plugins/content/jacomment/”, then remove this line code:
JHTML::script(JURI::root().'components/com_jacomment/asset/js/jquery-1.4.2.js');
February 25, 2011 at 2:53 pm #378468Hi!
I did what you suggested me but after removing the line in code you mentioned Ja_comment not displayed at all – neither in IE, firefox or Opera. So I uploaded the old one back and still don’t know what to do..
I do appreciate your effort but this solution you gave me just doesn’t work.I forgot to tell that I use Yootheme Template too.
March 4, 2011 at 12:44 am #379551Since I don’t got an answer how to fix the above mentioned problem I decided to downgrade my joomla 1.6 site back to joomla 1.5.22. I’m little bit dissapionted with JA comment and joomla 1.6 compatibility so my advice for everyone who wish to upgrade his/her site to J! 1.6 is to be careful with choosing templates and components. JA comment is great component but not works properly with joomla 1.6 and Yoothemes templates.

March 4, 2011 at 2:14 am #379556Hello,
Please check your FTP which was provinded in ticket id JVT-166-84997.
I can’t login to your FTP. I get a message:
Response: 550 PWD: No such file or directory
Error: Failed to retrieve directory listing
I will try to find a solution for this bug.Best Regards.
March 4, 2011 at 4:07 pm #379657Hi!
I turned ftp-gate on, that is why you cannot login anymore (I can’t keep it open for more then couple of days). Thank you for your effort, but downgarding is done and your component with Joomla 1.5.22 and Yootheme template works fine adn it’s enough for me now.
When joomla 1.6 would better supported (not only by you, I had other difficulties with other components too) I will think about upgrading again. -
