Appreciate some help here. I need to make the headline contents display using the news module randomly instead of sequentially. Please guide and advice. 🙂

Hi Xavier,

You need to edit the janews.js file.

Replace

jahl.autoRoll = function() {
if (jahl.current == jahl.total) next = 1;
else next = jahl.current+1;

jahl.showNews(next, jahl.total);
}

with

jahl.autoRoll = function() {
next = jahl.current;
while (next == jahl.current) {
next = Math.floor(Math.random() * jahl.total);
}

jahl.showNews(next, jahl.total);
}

1. How to make the controller appear. It is missing on mine — I only see the tab headed content items.

2. How to delete the ja-news module when you want to remove it

3. How to implement the java scripts. Where to put them?

4. Why is there no information on how to use the quickstart package? I uploaded it and it wasn’t a complete joomla installation.

It seems that the support of this template is possibly the worse ever in the history of Joomlart, yet there seems to be similar questions with no real answers.

Why do the customers of Joomlart take this abuse?

Joomlart and all of the people involved need to shut this site down and fix it before ripping off another customer.

stop your whining and learn how to use Joomla the teline install is simple ya just have to know how to use Joomla, it really gets annoying where every person who can’t snap their fingers and have an instant web site blames templates, servers hosts etc but its there own skills that’s lacking.

these templates are for professionals not noobs who can make a webpage in Frontpage, word, publisher and tack the name webmaster on a site. If you wish to play with the big boys start studying and stop rubbishing the community for your lack of knowledge or patience.

you have been a member since june 2006 and only posted twice in that time both to complain, whats the matter membership runs out in a month so you’re gunna shit stir for the next 4 weeks?

Why document software when people will buy it and defend it without support?

Why support your software when others desire to do it for free?

Why not misrepresent when vicious defenders of frauds will attack anybody who complains?

Why respect the biggest market — when you can insult Americans (this is what they think)?

I am not going to recommend this site, I am going to continue to demand better support and documentation.

I will not back off — instead — I’m going to stand my ground and get into the business and face of the bully who attacked me, suggesting that it is irritating for people to expect a template to work out of the box. That is the whole point, but how can you deprogram a Limbite? What is a Limbite? They think that consumers have no rights, and that businesses have the right to steal and undermine markets.

Do not join this club until their products are supported. I have some suggestions for users, but I don’t beleive I will post it until the company offering the templates provides at least some better documentation than they have.

I refuse to be your primary support resource and others who do in this environment are encouraging the degrading of the software industry. Open Source doesn’t men Open Season on Consumers. If you can’t support your product, get out of the business.

JoomArt and the board bullies have still not provided responses to my questions, and I’m convinced this is a cult, not a company.

As written in the email, please PM me or Khanh Le the Cpanel login information and we will go ahead to install JA Teline for you. You will need basic webmater as well as Joomla experience to use the template. It will take us nowhere when we have to answer the question eg “How to implement the java scripts. Where to put them?”….
It will be great if you can be calm down and do some research on JoomlArt, Joomla.org and other website for some of your basic and non-template issues..

I have been member since may and have also purchase membership from popular template provider such as rockettheme. I have used both Joomlart and rocketthem. I must say that Joomart is much more easier to customise as it provide basic help guide, psd for design and also the much improve forum support.

I started with Zero Knowledge of joomla and template customization but at least with patience and try to find answer in various forum improve and increase your knowledge. Template customization is not easy if you are not familar with browser, css and other coding lanaguages not to mention familar with joomla.

But i must say joomlart has been very supportive and helpful compare with other template provider. 😀

I will do as you say — but I wonder why you didn’t email this to me? THis message board support is not the way to go.

I’ve been working on Mambo / Joomla for years and have installed over 200 modules, components and plug ins. I have membership with other template providers and have NEVER had the problems that your customers have. You had better stop labeling people as unskilled just because your templates are NOT user-friendly, not customer-friendly and not really templates. They are packages and there is nothing wrong with packages. Just call them packages not templates. Templates — by their very nature — should be instantly installable.

I will calm down and refrain from other actions if I am not called names and assumed to be an idiot. I’ve worked with UNIX for 40 years, and could probably embarass you and my other detractors face-to-face where you can’t insult people without consequences. Cowards and frauds call names and put people down online that they would run from in a real situation. Calling names takes your company’s brand and puts it in the middle of petty, sophmoric disputes.

I will set up hosting just for you to install. But I am disturbed that you are going to install me rather than just providing some good documentation on ja-news. Amazing.
