June 15, 2011 at 1:23 pm #396502Strange I have used the Akeeba backup but I still get the same problems with certain category pages as per the links earlier in this post? So what I see after your hard work is just the same as what I got….what do you see on your local machine?
This is strange…..

June 16, 2011 at 6:56 am #396618Who closed this thread? Anyway opened it again now!
Thanks Phil, I am just lost as to why you have a different result and I guess you used the same Akeeba file? My “Read more” links are not the same and I cannot get the category pages as mentioned previously.
…..however if it is the same version it is generating different errors on your hosting:

All detail pages are 404’s ????
Nightmare this isn’t it….?

June 16, 2011 at 6:58 am #396619The readmore is easy to fix. I shall take a look at the 404 pages today. I am sure that is nothing much.

June 16, 2011 at 9:02 am #396645UPDATE
I decided to sit down and think about this situation, Phil has helped me a great deal but nobody has even bothered to answer my support ticket in over a week!
So for me I updated all components, T3 framework etc, but as soon as the updated Rasite template was installed it broke category list pages. So this is where I started to look……
OLD WORKING SITE – This file /templates/ja_rasite/html/com_content/category/_default.php – note _default.php
UPDATED BROKEN SITE – This file /templates/ja_rasite/html/com_content/category/default.php – note default.php
All I have to do is rename default.php to _default.php and its all working again??????????
I am assuming that I am not actually renaming this file, rather commenting it out?
Support did something in here when I first built this site to help me, I think in future they should tell us what they have done to avoid these problems in the future rather than just fixing it…..
Now I need to sort out the read more and why it repeats the title after it………. :((
….and why the breadcrumbs when enabled appears twice?

June 16, 2011 at 12:01 pm #396683Tx Phil
Decided to take some time out and get to the bottom of this, managed to sort the breadcrumbs and read more out…. At least this way when the template updates again I have some idea of whats going on.
I can’t use the breadcrumb mainly because of how I have built the pages and how the menu works, but not a big deal. I had to go into the template and delete the div for the breadcrumb because if you don’t use it, seems to leave a 10px space at the top of the template….
I am still unsure about the template file above and the problem with those category pages, but it works now, should be able to go live with it anyway…
TX for the assistance Phil, but I do think this is a prime example of why support should tell us what they have changed when they access and amend a sites files themselves. It would have saved a lot of time and aggravation, I hope next time they will answer my ticket as this one still remains unanswered….

June 16, 2011 at 2:06 pm #396701Thanks Phil
I think I have been through everything and every page, however I have a strange behaviour with the mega menu….
What happens when you go to Other Services > Boating Bookstore ?
It doesn’t seem to be popping out properly?

June 16, 2011 at 2:16 pm #396703This does appear to be a bug. I will report and get back to you.

June 17, 2011 at 8:42 pm #397042Probably a little optimistic I am afraid. I’m not too hot on JS so would struggle to fix this myself. Seems to happen on the old version of your site too. A quick fix would be to re-order the menu items as a temporaty measuer. If you swap “Other Services” with “RYA Training Courses” the problem should dissapear.

June 17, 2011 at 8:58 pm #397045Swapped them round tx Phil, not a logical order for the site but hopefully we will get a resolution soon?
I have 2 new sites to put together and I am really unsure what to do, 1.6 templates seem to have been a bit of a pain, should I stick with 1.5 are those templates more rigid and proven?
