October 6, 2017 at 8:27 am #1066319Hi
In Joomla if an article or category does not assciated a menu it open on the default homempage or the parent page.
As in demo the all demo site pages does not have the component section and using only module position
That’s the reason the content of article not showing.Kindly create a menu with type category blog and select 148-church category in this menu.
So when you open article under this category it opens on the blog menu, not under homepage and article will be visible. For demo site, I will ask concern team to add a menu for this category.
Regards

are we talking about the "read more" feature here? Isn’t that link created automatically from within the article?

Readmore option is for the menu like category blog, on full article page Joomla display full articles.

October 6, 2017 at 9:41 am #1066364Hi
You have to create a menu menu
Type: category blog
select news category in this menu item > saves and check.
All article under new category will open under the menu you created. In your screenshot, you have not created any menu item.
