Really need help :(( has over one week tried to get my page to work as the demo site http://www.joomlart.com/demo/#templates.joomlart.com/ja_social

Purchased joomlart and Jomsocial but can not find ug what I should install first and what’s next?

Hi Jeff,

Please provide more details. What kind of problems are you facing?

1. Did you install quickstart? That would be wise, if you are starting a new site project.
2. Are you trying to get JA Social to work on your old Joomla site? If yes, then you would need follow few steps.

If you are configuring the JA Social onyour already running Joomla site. Then this is what you should be doing :

1. Take backup of your old site (complete backup of files and DB). You can use Akeeba Backup component for the same.
2. Clone your site to a different folder of your site, so that your edits would not affect the live site preview.
3. Install JA Social Template and T3 plugin. Activate it and do the basic config of theme color, profiles and so on….
4. Install JA Social Quickstart on your localhost for reference (Must to do). Try the Guide here.
5. Install the extensions provided in the JA Social download, as required by your feature set.
6. Configure them by referring to the default settings as given in the quickstart guide.

7. You should now be fit to go live with your site running JA Social.

The userguides in the JA Social forum (sticky threads), have the screenshots of modules and template backend, featuring the default settings. You would need to match the same, so as to get the demo site like look.

Now, if you got a live url, may be we can help you by pointing in the right direction.

1. I’ve tried to install yes social QuickStart, but it will not install is Jomsocial afterwards

2. Have deleted everything and the server is empty, so starting from scratch

Should I start to install JA SOCIAL QUICK START as the first? and afterwards

Hello – The quickstart package is a full package (all software) for Joomla! + Joomlart’s template JA Social + any modules, extensions etc. that were designed for this specific template design. Once the quickstart is installed and assuming you chose to install the example data included during the installation once done you will have a complete running joomla! installation ready to play with identical to what you see on JoomlArts demo server.

From there you can decide to modify the demo version to suit your needs or we always recommend you do a separate clone or new install with a different name to modify leaving the demo installation for reference.

You would also need to purchase and install JomSocial and also install Agora forum, after you install the quickstart. Coz, those are not bundled with JA Social Quickstart.

As you can see on my page http://www.exklusiv.dk Jomsocial missing button and all functions belonging.

I bought Jomsocial but can not get it to work with JOSOCIAL.

Have installed JOSOCIAL QUICK START and the following installed Jomsocial with getting error every time at the end of insatllationen by installed by ZEND.

So I install maybe in the wrong order?

Hello again Joomlart

Have got it working, got a new server and after it all worked;)

Now I have 2 other problems;)

Facebook and twitter “share” buttons are missing, see pic also I can not get facebook login on the front to work, login works in the “network” some who can help.

Dear jkcopenhagen,

For the issue of facebook login on the front page,you can try to disable the Optimize JS in your back-end,I hope it will help .

For the issue of the “share” buttons are missing,you can try as guide on this thread
