I’ve been workign with mambo/Joomla sites for over 10 years now, and this slideshow and support for it is going to go in the trash pretty **** soon. I’ve sent numerous requests for help, and nothing. The links are not working “AT ALL!” Let’s get this fixed!
PM Me Admin! I’ve sent you PMs and have not gotten replies.>:(

Which slideshow? If you want a simple slideshow for the FrontPage, some members here have substituted the JoomlaWorks Slide show because, as some pointed out, it is easier to use — it is also a navigational tool — clicking the image test or title will send you to an actual page.
The drawback, it cost many euros and very restrictive licensing. And, just like here, the guy who created it may not respond to you at all.

Thanks buddy! I may just have to do that. The issues is that the description parameters are not being updated, not matter what. It is the dmandest thing. The file is not write protected. Only that function is not working. I can add in whatever I want there, and Nothing happens.

vikingmark,
To be honest, I have not found any of the Joomlart slideshow to be userfriendly or just use too much CPU for some reason — they tend to freeze my computer. The contentslider has potential but also slows my site too much plus it does not work well with Safari, it breaks the layout.
I have not used the JoomlaWorks Frontpage slideshow itself, but I have seen the Demo and I have seen it in quite a number of pages. One time, here in the forum, I was suggesting to a guy how he can improve his FrontPage slideshow, and he was doing it almost instantaneously, as we were exchanging ideas.
There is a slideshow developed by another company also which works with individual pages (unlike the JoomlaWorks) but its licensing is even more restrictive and very costly.

vikingmark,
I had the Gavick slideshows, and they worked great with my Gavick News template; but for some reason, I had trouble integrating it with Teline II. Whick Joomlart template are you using it with?
One good thing abou the Gavick Extensions is that they are all free 🙂 as a promotion. Even better, Gavick extensions work. In contrast, Joomlart is selling their extensions, even to some paying customers at some point. It is good if they work, but more often than not, I had trouble making a number of them work.

Edit: I just looked at the terms of GavickPRO, they have restricted their licensing now but still more generous that Joomlart.

April 9, 2009 at 9:25 pm #300760vikingmark,
Maybe you can help me here. Can you please see if you can make it work with Teline II? I think it maybe just a compatibility issue with one of the tools used. Just like the problem I had with SIGPRO.
I should look at their other free stuff again. They have quite a few. If you like their templates, the Gavick PRO license terms are even much much more liberal than Joomlart. In fact, there is no restriction as to how many sites you can use your templates. It is more an “honesty” system, but while you are given unlimited use, you are not supposed to use it as a Developer without paying the Developer license.
I wish they make a news-magazine template. I joined them before because of their news template and they promised to create a news-magaszine but never did.
