    Hello:

    1) I wish to move my header and nav code to the bottom of the page (source code only), and use absolute positioning so that the header and nav will remain in the same place. I’ve tried using CSS absolutes, but the rest of the content overlaps the header and nav.

    2) Is there a template (or J1.5.7) hack that will enable me to nofollow specific menu items?

    3) When I remove the home menu item and set another for default, the one set to default always links to home. Is there a fix?

    Thanks in advance!

A: This will require quite some work to make it act as expected, but is surely possible to do, if you know css, html, php enough you can make it:)

    A: Look att this here:
    http://extensions.joomla.org/component/option,com_mtree/task,viewlink/link_id,3778/Itemid,35/
    http://www.alledia.com/blog/seo/adding-no-follow-to-joomla-menu-links/
But not sure if it will work with the JA menu system.

A: can you provide a link to your site? And a screenshot of the menu items for main menu in backend?

I’m a very busy guy. Can you do this for me for a fee?

2.A. Way ahead of ya! SEO patch isn’t functioning properly for the menu nofollow option. I’ve posted a help request on the forum, but no luck yet. As far as the mod_nfmainmenu item you mentioned, I can’t get that to work with edenite after several wasted hours.

With regard to Alledia, nofollow on menu items, notice that all of the module menus are disabled, yet the main menu is still inserted by the template. I wanted to use the mod_nfmainmenu instead of mod_mainmenu, but there’s no way to disable the latter (grayed out) in the modules install/uninstall joomla back end.

One the default menu issue, again, deleting the home menu item puts the “credit articles” menu in slot one and links it to the home page.

    Thanks for the swift reply!

for the nofollow items, you can do it with artio “click here“, you can’t do it for menu items, but you can do it for sections, categories, and content items that the menu links to. I do it all the time 🙂

i know of no way to do this with joomla at the menu item level, but you can do it to the page, section, category, or component that the menu item is linkng to.

so, lets say i have a static content item link on my menu.

in artio joomSEF, you look up the url of the static item and you can enter nofollow, noindex, or what ever combination you want into the robots meta tag box. What ever robot command you want will be applied to that content item. It works, i do it all the time, and this will solve your issue.

so, you can’t do it by menu item, you do it by content item.

Not interested in this. Looking to nofollow the menu.

    @ anyone

This menu mod could work, except JA templates do not use mod_mainmenu. Is there a way to customize my template to use mod_mainmenu?
