    Hi,
We didn’t have our email set up right on the contact form so when a user sent us an email, they would get a copy as a confirmation, but we never received their email. We have the issue fixed now but I was wonderring if there was some place in the database that these lost emails might be stored, so we could recover them.

    Thanks,
    herbal

    Hi

Have you tried on your server ?

because if the settings was wrong then the email was not processed by the database since your database has never reached anything.

Therefore is most likely that your emails are still stored on your server

I’m new to Joomla, (and still fairly new to web development and CMSs) so don’t really know where to look on the server. I’ve gone through a bunch of folders using FTP. Should I be trying to access the database with something like PHPmyAdmin? I don’t have this set up either, just trying to figure out what the best way to access this info would be.

    Thanks for your help.

generally go to your email setup and configuration area on your host server.(cpanel/email accounts) (Where you administrer all your email accounts and alias’) look in the log for the email. alternatively on most hosts you can login to your email accounts as root admin and see a folder view of inbox trash junk etc. it maybe in junk as it was never opened.
