Any reason the Joomlart installation of JA Edenite will not refresh in both IE8 and Chrome. Other sites with the default template refresh just fine. Both sites have the same setup of cache. I emptied the cache too. Once the page is opened any changes are not shown. The changes are available as when the same article was opened in another page the update appeared, but won’t update to any other changes.

Have you checked into /cache and make sure it’s cleaned ? Beside that if you are using some kind of caching like APC, your cache time is not depended on Joomla! config 🙂

I needed to have the development mode on. A bit strnage but a reason must exist.

Yes development ON is no problem. But until end of cache interval, if you need update your site content please try to clear cache ?
For better you can go to /cache dir and clear subdirs.
