December 31, 2007 at 6:44 pm #235502Hey alan..just a quick question. I dont use the quick start b/c i can get the site to look like the demo pretty easly, and im still a newb in joomla. Yes it takes it a lil longer, but with all the time youve spent on this problem, i think you could of had this finished by now. I could be wrong..let me know.
pS…ive had a great exp with joomlart..and i cant complain
January 6, 2008 at 10:39 am #235877You’re kidding me? I don’t think it’s that easy as everything is nicely placed in the demo and I want it to look like that.
Don’t get me wrong, before I sign up, I’ve done my research and Joomlart by far has won my respect thus far for their style of business. However, with this template that I need, they have fell a little short for me…

January 7, 2008 at 12:28 pm #235958No saying it that easy, but you stated that you were in a hurry to get a project completed, just wondering if instead of wait for the quick install, with a little help you could of done it manually? And and you could of addressed the issue while not being on time restraint for your project.

January 7, 2008 at 12:45 pm #235959I am happy to help you in whatever way in making your site look the way you want it. I can’t setup an exact replica of the demo, or even access the demo server, as that is for the coders to do – as such I don’t have access.
However, you have my MSN email and Skype – contact me and I will help you live mate.
January 7, 2008 at 10:33 pm #235995if you guys can’t provide me with what was advertised, can you please refund?

January 11, 2008 at 2:29 pm #236230sorry to hear your having such a bad time of it alan…but I have to agree with beastmode about the normal upload I didn’t even know anything about the quick start, and had my frontpage looking like the demo within an hour….took that long because I had to upload my own images.
if you can’t get sorted I hope you get your refund.
January 11, 2008 at 11:41 pm #236260I’ve tried, it took me 8 hours and i still can’t get the normal slideshow to work. I still want them to help me, but they are ignoring my requests and I’ve escalated this issue to paypal.
January 18, 2008 at 8:07 pm #236686Some people can sort it out to display correctly and some people don’t. That’s why there is quick start for people don’t, isn’t it?
If they can’ t make quick start, at least “Manual” should be useful one. This is not acceptable.

1. INSTALL TEMPLATE

I can’t believe you guys put this as Template user guide for specific template.
Not only that I find lots of complain throwout the forum. I think Joomlart needs to work on existing complain ASAP.
I am not going to ask for refund. but fist I was thinking to become develop member but after I tried few templates and read the forum, I changed my mind.
Anyway, whoever designing the template is doing great job. It really good, I chose Joomlart because of this excellent design. You have really good taste.
Nice Design and Template, Bad support and documentation is very bad.
Overall bad.January 19, 2008 at 8:46 am #236705Thanks for understanding. I really wish this company was in America so we can put an end to all these false advertisement and poor business practice.
January 19, 2008 at 8:55 pm #236724I don’t know why, but JA is still advertsing “Do you know that JA Purity is now in finalist of J! 1.5 Template Contest
Vote for JA Purity & JoomlArt HERE”
Even after they WON the contest weeks ago (and of course, the contest is over).
It seems they are so busy that they forget these little details.Michael Casha FriendMichael Casha

January 22, 2008 at 11:37 am #236921Hi Alan,
I think there is a confusion need to be clarifiedFirst, we do not make the False Advertisement, it is more a spelling mistake when the news editors copy texts from old news when he wrote up the news for released templates. This has been corrected and we appology for that. I will be not happy when you insists on that mistake and turn it into a false advertisement.
Second, Joomla has now become stable and it is our duty to provide all stale installation and quickstart for 1.5
I should not commit a time frame for certain templates, however I am quite sure that all JA templates will be ready for Joomla 1.5 stable within 1 month since today!!
If you can not wait, please let me know if you would like a refund, I do not want you to leave JA but I will do that if I am asked to do. It has taken Joomla nearly 2 years to release it own version (1.0.x is still Mambo based) and I think 1 month will be fair to us.

That statement might be true for alanspacket’s template but for many others the descriptions are false. Here is another example:
http://www.joomlart.com/templates_club/club_portfolio/ja_senecio.html
This template is NOT 1.5 compatible. You can’t even install it with Legacy mode…
I wonder how many templates that has false information 😮January 22, 2008 at 11:35 pm #236966@Hung Dinh 37628 wrote:
Hi Alan,

You making a spelling mistake is not my concern nor problem. You have provided a lovely descirption and selling approach and I bought it and pay for it. That’s it. 1 + 1 = 2, where ever you and your team come up with the 1 is between you guys, not me. In this case, it’s clearly a False Advertisement because it’s not avail to what was advertised and promised.
You also promised me Wednesday a few last week ago, and now you want another month.
Here’s what you can do, follow up on the case on Paypal and refund my money. Or extend my membership longer if you keep making me wait for something that was advertised to me and I paid for it.
