July 8, 2008 at 4:39 am #258492Great question Ana. That would be so cool … if non-registered users click on “Read More” and then get a message saying “Sorry, this function is only for Registered Users. Click here to sign up” kind of thing.
I hope somebody can help with this!

July 8, 2008 at 7:40 am #258508You are thinking of a teaser Intro text. Yeah, many professional papers do that. So, it is doable.
Maybe Menalto will come to the rescue.
In the meantime, you can place at the top right (or just below main feature at the top right), some similar to this:
************************************
Become a member. Be one of us.To access archives of manuals, guides, tutorials and other resources for the webdesigners, webmasters and webpage creators.
Place Register/Login form here
************************************That is what I was thinking for the proposed Collaborative Support Group site.

N.B.
The New York Times used to do the same — restricted access to their archives (articles more than 10days), as well as some of their “premium contents”, to generate other sources of money. Then, they realized that there were not many takers (just a few millions?); they may be able generate more money instead by opening them up to everyone, and earn money through advertisements on those pages, instead. Now, all their contents, all the way back to 1981, plus their “premium contents” — columns, feature articles, etc. — are now free to the general public again.Menalto FriendMenalto

Menalto,
Is there an equivalent of this for Joomla 1.0x?

July 9, 2008 at 6:10 am #258703Just one more question about this …
This stuff here:
“The final thing, if you wanna change the text: Register to read more … blah blah.”
Will this file en-BG.com_content.ini be translated by Joom!Fish, or is this something I’ll have to make manually?

I guess it should be translated by Jomfish, but not sure. Why dont you try it out and let us know?

This is very, very strange!
OK. I changed one article as advised and changed the Section/Category as advised.
If I view:
Members Area – Language
Then it works!
However, my problem here is … the article has disappeared from the Section (it only appears in category)? I did apply the same Component Parameters are Section and Category level, but this only works at Category level. The articles ‘dissapear’ at Section level.
Oh, I did try clicking on a foreign language in Joom!Fish to see what happened … the article immediately disappeared too!!
