With JA Opal’s current login/Register module I get bogus sign ups. When I installed a more tradional looking login module from another JA template (forgot which template it came from) the problem went away. I have since done the online update & the problem is back. How do I stop the ramdom bogus accounts being setup?

Thanks, Toddman

In the Admin area goto:
SITES > GLOBAL CONFIGURATION > SYSTEM
and then down under USER SETTINGS set NEW USER ACCOUNT ACTIVATION to ”YES”

This will force your system to send them an email which includes an activation link which must be clicked on before the account is activated…and thus cuts way down on spam. Beyond that you will need to use a Registration module that has “CAPTCHA” built into it.

Have fun!
John.

Its already set to “yes”. It has to do with the pop up window. I put in a custom code/mod to fix this problem & the extesion manager over written my custom code/mod & now I can’t remember what I did to resolve this issue in the past.

Mo’ info: I found what I did here http://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/how-do-you-move-the-login/ but when I added JA Beryl template logon default.php still no joy. I still get the pop up window.
Thanks,
