As usual, found the answer straight after posting the problem after spending hours this afternoon trying all sorts of setting changes.
The solution is to go to the main menu, home item and open it to edit. This menu item is a Front Page Blog Layout item type. In the “Parameters (System)” tab, in the “Page title” field, enter some text. This text has two functions. 1 – It will appear as a title for the browser window. If “Show Page Title” is checked “No”, it will only be browser window title. 2 – If checked “Yes” it will also be displayed no the Front Page Blog display.
If there is no text in the “Page title” field, the domain name will be displayed, regardless of “Show Page Title” setting.
