I like the infinite scroll on the main page, but on things like category pages I would like for there to be traditional pagination (so that people can get to page 30 or whatever by clicking through instead of having to load 30 pages of content first).

Is there a way to only have infinite scroll on the front page, but then have regular paginated content on interior pages?

I’m afraid you will not be able to do it, i would like to clarify that for heavy customization, you should hire a developer to carry out such work, customization support is out of JA support scope.

Ok, I was just wondering if it was super involved, or if I could just swap out the main body code for something from another template. Thank you for the response.

If you try to do that, i can suggest some idea to you on this case

+ Go to Admin site -> Extensions -> Template Manager-> and duplicate JA Argo template as for reference here

+ Open clone new template -> Theme tabs -> set Theme: red -> In Assignment tabs-> select Menu page need to appear with clone new template -> Save

+ Use FTP account -> go to templates/clone_new_template/html/com_content/category folder and rename it to category_hide folder

With this way will help you to hide customize com_content/category on clone JA Argo template to default.
