    What file(s) can you modify to remove Joomla as the Generator?

    You could apply this free patch http://www.joomlatwork.com/products/free-downloads/seo-patch-joomla-15.html apart from removing the Joomla generator it has additional seo fields such as meta tags for menu items.

    hainn84 he means the meta field – “generator: Joomla! 1.5 – Open Source Content Management”

    Correct. I meant the meta field – “generator: Joomla! 1.5 – Open Source Content Management”

    If you right click on the page for “info” this appears there, I would like to replace that with my sites information instead.

    Respectfully,

    Override it by adding this <?php $this->setGenerator(‘Powered by me! ‘); ?> to the header of your index.php template file (change the blue text to suit).

    I’d still recommend the free patch above though as it fixes a lot of the seo problems that Joomla has.

    Another method is to install sef404 component. This component has this option, among other usefull things…

    or you could just go to the file and rem it out
    this is setup in the file:
    /libraries/joomla/document/html/renderer/head.php

    around line 183
    find this
    $strHtml .= $tab.'<meta name=”generator” content=”‘.$document->getGenerator().'” />’.$lnEnd;

    change it to this
    // $strHtml .= $tab.'<meta name=”generator” content=”‘.$document->getGenerator().'” />’.$lnEnd;

    Yes but then he’d have to check/redo it everytime there’s a joomla update.
